Bright Prospects Dimmed by Build Quality
Performance and Features: The Aputure Amaran 60D is a highly capable LED light that offers strong, daylight-balanced illumination suitable for both amateur and professional video productions. The 5600K color temperature closely mimics daylight, providing natural-looking light for my shoots. Its 65W output is impressively bright, easily filling a small studio or a night scene outdoors. Connectivity and Control: One of the standout features of the Amaran 60D is its Bluetooth app control, which allows me to adjust settings remotely—a fantastic feature when the light is rigged out of reach. The app is mostly intuitive and responsive, although I've experienced occasional disconnects which could be frustrating during critical shooting moments. Build Quality: While the light performs well, the build quality has room for improvement. The housing feels a bit plasticky, and I am concerned about its durability over time, especially when used frequently in field conditions. The yoke and adjustment knobs also feel less sturdy than what I would expect at this price point. Portability: The compact size of the Amaran 60D is perfect for on-the-go setups, and it integrates seamlessly into my existing gear without adding much weight. However, the power adapter and cables feel cumbersome and detract from the overall portability. Value for Money: Considering its features and performance, the Aputure Amaran 60D offers good value, but the concerns about build quality and connectivity issues are significant enough to affect the overall satisfaction. Conclusion: The Aputure Amaran 60D LED light is a bright and feature-rich tool that is well-suited for a variety of lighting needs in video production. While it excels in performance and light quality, the build quality and reliability of connectivity could be potential drawbacks for professional users. This light is best suited for those who need powerful, portable light and can manage with some design compromises.

A game-changer for headshot and interview shoots!
As a photographer and videographer specializing in headshots and talking head style interviews, the Amaran 60x S LED light has been a game-changer for me. Its compact & portable design makes it perfect for on-the-go shooting. The illumination and adjustable color temperature ensure soft, even lighting that complements my subjects'. The brightness control is precise and the color accuracy is great, it delivers consistent results. The fans are so quiet and keep the light cool, I never had any noticeable issues with it. I've used lav mics, boom shotguns, and camera mounted shot guns and I never noticed any audible noise. The wireless control makes adjusting on the fly so easy while shooting videos. Overall, the Amaran 60x S is a must-have tool that has elevated the quality of my work, and I highly recommend it to fellow professionals in the field!

Don’t think about it, just get it!
You get great value for money with this little light you’re able to light up just about anything and being able to carry it in my bag due to the compact size and being made out of durable plastic adds to it’s versatility making it light weight! Great for content creators or beginner photographers wanting to learn more about lighting. I would 100% recommend!

Pro-level lighting for interiors and events—compact, robust, and silent.
I’ve been testing the Aputure Amaran COB 60X S, and my overall impression is that it is a very high-quality light with just a few minor design quirks. **The Best Parts:** * **Versatility:** It is incredibly practical for social events and portrait photography. Its compact size makes it easy to move around during a shoot. * **Silence & App Control:** The fan is virtually silent; you can’t hear it at all. Additionally, the Sidus Link app is very intuitive—it connects in seconds and responds perfectly. * **Color Accuracy:** Color temperature control is straightforward, and I haven't noticed any color shifting. The light quality is very clean. * **Battery Life:** I managed to get nearly an hour and a half at 100% power on battery mode without any issues, which is quite impressive. * **Build & Mount:** Even though it’s made of plastic, it feels premium and robust. Having a Bowens mount is a game-changer for using professional modifiers. **Things to Keep in Mind:** * **Power Increments:** When using the "quick toggle" on the adjustment wheel, it jumps in 20% increments. I think 10% steps would be much better and more balanced. * **The Case:** The carrying case is nice, but as many others have pointed out, fitting everything back inside is like a game of Tetris—almost a "mission impossible." * **Outdoor Use:** While it’s great for interiors (where you can compensate with camera settings), it’s not powerful enough to compete with direct sunlight outdoors. **Final Verdict:** This is a fantastic tool for creators and event photographers who need portability and professional color accuracy. Great lighting
Amazing how it works

Wow
I used to use floodlights and dome lights to light movie sets. Then I bought a few led/a softbox on Amazon. I was impressed, although not totally satisfied. They just weren't very bright. Now I bought an Amaran. Man, this is bright! Not only that, but it is super controllable, has bluetooth capability, and the effects themselves are well worth the money. You can plug it in or use special batteries (not included). The cheapest batteries run about 30.00 for 2 with a charger. This light also comes with a cool case and even a small diffusion cloth. For the money, this is the light to get. You can adjust the brightness easily. You can create lightning, fireworks, explosion flashes, fire, TV screen blinking. All at the push of a button on your phone. You can trigger it once or have it repeat on its own. If you're a budget filmmaker looking for a good light in a low price range, look no further.

Great light, consistent color
Great light. Very consistent white balance. I use it with one of their softboxes and it sheds nice, even, soft light. It is fairly powerful, but if using just one of these I recommend removing the inner diffusion material in the softbox to shed more light. Still very soft with just one layer of diffusion material.
