I since got few more books by the author but I'm scared to read them. Will they measure up? Will they make as much of an impression? I'm generally a cosy mystery kinda person, with occasional biography or a novel thrown in. I know what I like and I would never think I would like, let alone love, this book so much. This book was just a beautiful, sad, moving story. Well, multiple intertwined stories. Perfection. I haven't yet find a book to beat this one. Not even close.

This was the first book I've read in 2023 and it's still the best one (I'm on book number 52 right now). I loved it and think about it often. I actually gifted it to someone as well. I since got few more books by the author but I'm scared to read them. Will they measure up? Will they make as much of an impression? This is a novel of twin stories, one in 1941 the other in 2010, but the former is more interesting in my view. The earlier story was quite moving in parts., whereas the author takes liberties in the latter, in an attempt to make it more interesting, leaving me feel a little cheated. It also includes far too much detail about quilting which, though vaguely relevant, I soon started merely skimming and it didn't affect my understanding of the story.
