The meals are actually quite tasty. Amazing self heating is versatile because you can use the hot liquid to warm up other stuff like instant coffee inside the envelope.

I purchased several of these for hunting. I typically hike in about 4-5 miles in the forest, and these meals were a nice treat for lunch & dinner. I agree with the other reviewers that they are slightly more expensive MRE's, and the heaters work very well. They did have a slight chemical taste, and that was my major objection. Overall, I would buy them again.

Loved being able to make this quickly after a long day of hiking. Super tasty! I added a packet of vanilla almond butter and it made this meal even better!

These Omeals heat up really well, even better than the civilian MREs I have. The heating element gets rather large and does not burn so you can't just burn it up in the campfire, you have to hike it out.

I was sleep walking and found this in the cupboard. So confused about what it was, mainly because my eyes were only open for a half second or so to scout the scene. Ate it all and had no idea what to do with the heating element. Put it on the counter after probably trying to bite into it. I'm buying one now to replace the one I ate as if I was a lobster.

I purchased one of these directly from Omeals with a promo discount when they first came out with these. The quality of the product itself was quite good. The food was delicious, the portion size adequate although generous, the heater was absolutely outstanding and I would say it was far better than any USGI MRE heater I've ever used. All in all, a VERY convenient package for a quick meal on the go or in the outdoors. Buuuuuut... The problem that I have with this package is that I simply don't feel that the value is there. Currently, at the time of this review (6/2/2019), a single Omeal entree sells for $6.99 on Amazon with free shipping. Another seller on Amazon is offering cases of USGI Military MREs, at a price that breaks down to $7.29 per meal, and in each meal you can expect to get an entree, heater, and spoon just like these Omeals entrees, as well as side and snack items, giving you about twice as much food, as well as things like a drink, coffee, etc. If anyone from Omeals bothers to read these, here's some comments I'd like you to really pay attention to: 1. The exterior pouch, with a tear off strip and a ziplock, is great, but it has the steam vent hole poked in it which can let water in. Why bother with all the jazz when you could easily just use a tear top with a bit of tape to fold and stick once the heater is active? 2. You have an excellent heater, but the meal kit itself seems bare and lacking. Why not include some other nice things inside? Perhaps you could find a way to include a beverage bag, some instant coffee, creamer, and sugar, so we can have a nice cup of coffee with our meal. 3. With what comes in these right now...The price needs to come down. I can't see myself buying this again for $6.99. If you can get these to market at $3.99 a piece, then yes, I think I would purchase this again. If you don't want to come off the current price point, then I need a little something more. I need to find a beverage pouch that will make me a nice fruit punch or a cup of hot coffee, and I need to find some kind of snack item, like cheese and crackers, a granola bar, a cookie, something, anything, but something more.
