Are these easy to clean?

Some are able to be opened others cannot be. In any case it must be cleaned right after use or you will have buildup and it will be harder or impossible to clean.

How does it work? Do you put your cover slip on this slide?

Hello, thank you for your inquiry. No cover slip necessary. There is a top and bottom piece to this slide creating a chamber within to hold the solution. Use a transfer suction pipette to push the liquid into the chamber. You will see the grid lines through the microscope lens to perform a fecal egg count. Check out our website if you need more help. Is this the engraved type of slide?

Our slides are printed on the interior or the chamber. The ink will not come off and it is translucent enough to see ova through it. Thanks for your question.
