Love it! Amazing 15" thin, fast laptop for a very low price!
The Acer Aspire 15 has been a super great laptop. It's probably one of the best tech purchases I have ever made and I'm an IT guy. I paid about $350 USD for this one and am very happy with the purchase. The last time I was searching for a Laptop I returned 5 laptops before I was satisfied so I'm pretty picky. This was for my wife but I use it at night when I'm not in my office sometimes. Storage & Upgrades: Although it only comes with 128gb SSD & 4gb RAM it's no big deal for about $100 you can upgrade to 20gb RAM and 2tb HDD + 128gb SSD. I love that you can run dual drives. 1 SSD + 1 HDD. I added a 2TB HDD for Data Storage for $50, it came with the bracket in the box, and it didn't void the warranty, like on my LG Gram. The 128gb SSD is functioning as a Boot Drive. I also added a 16gb module for about $50 and now have 20gb RAM. The upgrades were pretty straightforward and you can use normal small screwdrivers. Performance: It boots up super fast, maybe 10 seconds to reach the sign in screen and 2 seconds to log in. Web pages and programs load quickly. We use it for Web browsing, Word, PowerPoint & Excel. I'm not doing video editing or high performance gaming on this but it runs almost as fast as my i5 LG Gram that cost $1500 with all SSD drives. It doesn't get too warm but we do have it on a fan stand, but I don't usually plug it in because for some reason the USB keeps powering the fan after it powers down, and I can't find a BIOS setting to turn this off. I notice that it gets a little warm when sitting directly on a table. I usually can't hear the fan at all. Sometimes you can hear it kick on when you open up 15 tabs and a bunch of apps. Screen: The screen is really nice too. It's 1080 Full HD so you don't see the pixels like on a normal 15" Standard HD screen. I think it's average brightness but we use it indoors so it's plenty bright for our needs. Keyboard: I love the Keyboard, it's much better than the keyboard on my LG Gram, and just as good as the best keyboards I have tested in BestBuy from Lenovo. It's wonderful to type on. It's backlit as well so that's nice plus. And I love the Number Pad, even though the number pad is a little skinner than the other keys. Fingerprint ID: It's super fast and I didn't know how much I would love it! Speakers: The speakers are fine. They are loud enough to watch YouTube videos and the news but it won't compete with a home stereo system. Ports: It has plenty of full size ports: 3 USB, 1 USB C, 1 Full HDMI a headphone jack and even a RJ-45 Ethernet Port! I hate dongles so it's nice that you don't need one for this laptop. I would have liked to see a MicroSD reader but my wife doesn't SD Cards it so it's no big deal for her. Window 11: It comes with Windows 11s but is very easy to switch to standard Windows 11. I was a little concerned about this and it almost made me not go for this laptop. But it's no big deal, as soon as you try to install something "non Microsoft" like Google Chrome it says something like, "If you want to install non-Microsoft software, you have to switch to full Windows 11 mode. Are you sure? You will loose all the exclusive Microsoft Security with Windows 11s Mode." But you just click, "Yes" and it switches, it may require a reboot but I can't remember. Battery: The battery is average. We usually leave it plugged in on the desk but the few times that we have used it without a battery we used it for a few hours and it remained at 70% battery. Windows 11 doesn't estimate the time remaining so I really don't know for sure how long it would last. I'd guess it would go from 100% to 10% in about 5-6 hours for Netflix, YouTube or web browsing or MS Office apps. Again, I really love this laptop. I keep telling my wife how impressed I am with the performance, storage upgrade options, keyboard, screen, etc. She doesn't really care that much as long as it works fast and does what she wants so I decided I had to tell all of you Amazon people that this is a great laptop for 95% of normal people who just want something that works well and is a good price. I highly recommend the acer aspire 15 and would buy it again, no regrets!

Great Quality
I got the Acer Aspire 5 A515-46-R3UB when it was on sale for less than three hundred and fifty. I couldn't be happier with the value of this purchase. This laptop has excellent build quality, a quiet backlit keyboard, speedy processor, tons of ports, lovely 15.6" monitor, and more. It has been reviewed to death so there's not a whole lot more to say that hasn't already been put out there. Suffice to say that for a budget laptop, it rocks. It's not perfect. You can't really do any serious gaming on it if that's your thing. The speakers are decent but don't get very loud. Battery life is just okay. And, uh, ...that's about it. It really is a good laptop. For web browsing, office work, videos, and general use, it is great. I wish there were more than 4MG RAM and a 128GB SSD included, but for the price and way I use it, it works! I recently got another lappy from a no name brand that was $350 and isn't on the same level as the Acer. I'm very happy I got it. ~ Kort

No complaints so far. It does what I need it to do.
I'm far from a computer expert. I bought this computer for work because my job requires me to use a couple of different specific software programs. I needed a computer with a lot of storage, a fairly large screen, a numerical keypad, and most importantly, a cheap price tag. This computer has all of those things. I don't do any gaming or anything really sophisticated on it. Just work and some internet browsing. It boots up quickly and has been running smoothly so far. My biggest complaint is that it came with a lot of Microsoft bloatware that I hadn't experienced on my other laptops and by default it uses your Microsoft OneDrive for storage instead of the computer's SSD. The first time I logged onto the computer it asked me to either sign up for a Microsoft account or login to an existing one. My job requires me to take a lot of photos, so I was saving my photos to the computer without realizing it was uploading to my cloud storage account. That was an annoyance because I had to figure out how to switch that off. I unintentionally used up all of my cloud storage space because I didn't realize the system was set up that way. Once I figured out how to fix it, I was good to go. Also, the computer essentially comes in a "safe mode" which limits a lot of what you can do. It is designed for you to only use apps from the Microsoft app store and not download any software from any other source. It can be turned off, but it is another annoyance. I feel like they were trying to make it like their version of a Chromebook, but that makes it just as annoying as a Chromebook. Overall, it is a great computer once you get past all the Microsoft stuff.

Yes! Love Acer!
I have been using ACER as my personal, at home laptop for years. Its actually the only laptop Ive ever bought for myself. Acer is the best in my opinion. I've had this one for about a year now and have had NO issues with it. The battery is great. The sound is great. The view is great. This was a lower-priced laptop that works excellent!! Im not a gamer, so I cant speak on that behalf. I use my laptop to mostly surf the web, read articles, watch youtube, social media, netflix. Its great!! No problems or complaints whatsoever. This was my first time ordering a computer on amazon and i was worried about the shipping and the laptop getting knocked around, but it was ok - no issues. 10/10 would recommend buying this. Also, I want to add this section of feedback for acer - I have been using Acer for over 10 years. Every single acer laptop reaches the point that it wont charge anymore. Usually I can buy a new charger and get a few more months out of it and then the port to plug the charger in blows so that it wont charge at all. This seems to be around the 2nd-3rd year mark for me. Im leaving this note for Acer to maybe fix this issue? Other than that, my laptops have run until the wheels fall off.

Great VALUE. Easy to Upgrade. Simple, & Quick. Very Happy
Overall: Great VALUE. Easy to Upgrade. Simple, & Quick. Very Happy Pros: Quick. Easy. Cheap. Performant. Cons: None yet (only 3-4 days in) - Not a touchscreen as others have commented Details: Very happy with this great deal. It's not meant to be a gaming laptop and it's not. But if you read a few reviews its TOP notch value. I bought and immediately: 1) Disabled Windows S mode which is FREE to do and takes < 5 minutes after googling and 2) Upgraded memory to the below to add an additional 16 GB. This was takes about 15-25 minutes end 2 end including watching a YouTube video on how to do. 16GB may have been too much and an additional 4 or 8 on top of the soldered in 4 GB probably would have been enough. Purchased DDR4 RAM: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YNF3KY4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Overall, highly recommend for a quick, cheap, and performant laptop! I don't expect it to last forever, or game, or crunch heavy data - but I'm not using it for those things. If you want to navigate the web with many tabs open, watch Netflix, write documents, or crunch simple / medium spreadsheets you'll be fine with this. Again, only a few days in so unsure how quality will last. But happy for now!

5 star BUDGET laptop.
It's a budget laptop. But, it's a GOOD budget laptop. It's a 5 star BUDGET laptop. It's a 3 star laptop overall, but in the ~300 range, these are hard to beat. So it's 5 stars in this range I used to buy expensive computers. The hassle of upgrading them every 2 years isn't worth it to me anymore. Now I buy cheap computers and use them for 3 years or so. The ACER this replaced was still very usable after ~2 years, but I dropped it and that was that. It wasn't slowing down to a crawl, battery was starting to get a bit weak but they all do. Was a time I turned my nose up at ACER products. Either I'm lucky with the last 2 purchases or they've come a long way. I've had this one about a year now. I bought it used (very good condition) through Amazon and I could tell it had been used, but used very little. Even came with a soft ACER case (probably a $25 item) and it's well worth the $289 I paid for it.

An Excellent Laptop for School
I have used this laptop every day for about a year and I think I can safely say this is a great investment for anyone who will primarily use it for school, web surfing, watching TV shows/movies, or most work-related activities. It is NOT a gaming laptop by any stretch of the imagination. This is a utility laptop rather than a machine that can run extremely graphic intensive programs or triple-A games, so look elsewhere if you want that type of experience. The only major complaint I have is Windows 11 "S Mode". This feature is incredibly restrictive and annoying for 99% of users. While it may be useful for someone who needs a simple, streamlined experience (such as a child, an elderly person, or someone who is disabled), overall it is just a huge virtual padlock that needs to be disabled and thrown away before the computer becomes usable. It is relatively straightforward to revert to the full Windows 11 accessibility, but I don't think the OS should ship this way by default. RAM and hard drive/SSD both have an extra slot to allow for upgrading. I don't store much of anything besides files for school, so the disk space hasn't been an issue for me. Still, you will have less than 100GB of space to work with and that is pretty small by today's standards so an upgrade may be recommended. The more essential upgrade is memory because it only comes with 4GB of RAM, which is not terrible but if you want things to load even faster and open more programs or browser tabs simultaneously then a memory upgrade is highly recommended. Overall, Windows 11 has some questionable features but the laptop itself is worth it.

Upgradeable
Only has one ram slot and a soldered on 4gb of ram so can upgrade enough and the hard drive can be added I like the ability to choose your own hard drive size to put in instead of being stuck with a low amount... Less ewaste. Also speaking of the hard drive I had read a review about the hard drive ribbon cable connector you cannot lift up you have to unscrew the Wi-Fi chip to be able to lift a little tab for the hard drive ribbon cable see picture

Great value
First of all, stay away from those Intel Celeron or AMD equivalent cheap laptops as they will never give you the best experience. This laptop has a Ryzen 3 CPU with vega graphics which makes it enough to run everyday tasks. Applications run smooth like butter. The feel of the touchpad on this is something else. The keyboard is clickly and feels nice too. The only downside in this laptop is the soldered memory (4GB DDR4), with only one avilable slot to expand, which means dual-channel mode is out the window. It's still recommended to upgrade the memory as 4GB is barebone to run the operating system. The memory requires 260-pin module with 2400 MHz as this is the maximum clock speed the laptop can handle. SSD drive can be swapped out for more capacity, with an additional space for 2.5 inch for mass storage. All in all, one of the best deals out there.

Excelente laptop

Wont buy another acer online.
I've never hated a new laptop more. It has so many default settings that it has made basic set up difficult. And its Microsoft platform is just as limiting as if it were an apple product. I would not buy this again. Too bad, ive had many acer products. Ive owned it for months and have barely used it. Considering selling it sadly.

PROCESSOR is 2.1GHZ only and not 2.4GHZ!
PROCESSOR is 2.1GHZ only and not 2.4GHZ as advertised! Also it is a pain to connect the additonal HD to the motherboard by lifting the wifi card. I did appr. 15 times to get it recognised. Another thing which they have not mentioned is that -even though it is coming from amazon US it is MADE IN CHINA![while ordering i thought it is a US product] Except these it is so far a "good deal" once you do an upgrade of RAM and storage [and windows S mode removal]
