For some reason, I've always had bad luck with knee braces. Before I purchased this one, I read the reviews and checked the sizing chart. I measured, per the chart, and some of the reviews said it runs large, so I thought I was okay ordering the size my measurements fit into (I came in at just over 21", so I got the XL/2XL). This size does not fit my leg at the bottom or the top very well - the way it is designed is beautiful, with a piece of velcro on the fastenings to keep the bands from sliding up or down during use, and THEN the fasteners can be tightened and adjusted accordingly. However, the velcro on the backside of the fasteners does not reach the knee brace, so it chafes my leg or tears up my clothes because it is the coarse side of the velco, which means the top band likes to slide up. I still gave it two stars because while it is too small for me to wear it longer than 10 minutes, those 10 minutes are a whole lot more bearable than when I'm not wearing it. Hopefully I can exchange it for a size up, but I don't think measuring around the kneecap is the best way to determine size of the brace for my knee. )

I read a lot of reviews on this product and others that are comparable.. I appreciate everyone who takes the time to relay their experience with their choices and purchases. That being said, this brace is wonderful. I ordered two different sizes as I was in dire need of relief and support. I am keeping both. I found the workmanship to be sturdy, the straps easy to secure and the weight of it unnoticeable . All in all this brace supplied the help I needed and the price is very reasonable. I have only one irritation...the fabric is a magnet for pet hair and lint. It is impossible to pull out of the fabric !!!! All in all the help outweighs the fuzz. PS. Mine has not stretched out very much at all, I have chubby knees as they are getting ready to be replaced but I need to exercise them and leave the braces on, so I bought XL and XXL. I use XL most of the time and XXL over thick sweatpants when I go to the gym.

I own a XL/2XL AND a 5XL/6XL. Brace #1 - My left leg is significantly larger than my right leg due to water retention and injuries. I had gotten my larger brace figuring on wearing it over my work pants most days. I was borderline on the measurements and they said to choose the smaller size for tight fit. Since I was on the border and planning on wearing it on top of pants, I chose the larger size. Long story short, larger size is massive, and while it works ok when cranked down, there is excess material that gets in the way plus the strap has to go all the way around the back to be tight. Brace#2 - The smaller brace XL/2XL. I measured my other leg for this brace and noticed the size chart changed from the prior order. Knowing how much difference there is in size between my two legs and that my left leg should have the 3x/4x. This knee should have one size down for proper fit. I certainly didn't want a second brace with excess. Now this one is super tight and I have to flip it a certain direction for the strap to even meet up. Even then, only one strap meets the D-ring and comes back to velcro down by about 2 inches if that. The top strap doesn't make it to the d-ring so I pull it tight and flip the strap to put velcro down. Granted it works but it is severely tight and wearing it more than a few hours leaves indents in my leg. They both are definitely great to stabilize my knees but leave a lot to be desired in the comfort area (likely due to the incorrect sizing). Realistically I should have two of the 3XL/4XL but already having purchased two, it will be awhile before I spend additional money as I can make these work in a pinch and when regulating time worn.

I needed this to try and heal a patellar subluxation while staying at home without the need of a doctor. I will update in a month if it actually helped it heal. Now for the actual product review. This thing is the most awkward thing I’ve ever tried to use. As someone with a very large thigh and a reasonably normal sized calf, the top fits but the bottom became wrinkled and deformed while attempting to tighten it. Im not sure why this is designed as if the circumference of my thigh is the same as my upper calf. It pushes down on my knee quite a lot and it is uncomfortable, but that’s to be expected. Hopefully it will ‘come through’ and help me heal properly. P.S. I’m not sure why I can’t post a photo, and I wish y’all could see this thiccccc thigh squeezed into this knee brace, it’s absolutely comical.
