I typically buy the more familiar name brand fans - e.g., Hunter. Those have gotten more expensive and the styles are mostly traditional. This was a good looking modern/rustic style that fit with our new house, no light option which was preferred, came with a remote which saves having to replace a wall switch with fan control, and a fair price. Parts feel solid, quality construction. Installation was fairly easy - the only tricky part was getting the small control box for the remote stuffed into ceiling bracket. There is a designated spot built into the bracket which helps, just note to try to keep wires free of that space when making connections and the rest will be easy. The fan started making a clicking sound a couple months after installation. Customer support (email) was very responsive. I sent a video, they immediately sent a new motor at no charge. Delivery was fast, replacement was straight forward and the fan has been operating silently since. The lowest setting is good for keeping room temps even; it really moves a lot of air on the highest. Very convenient to be able to reverse direction using the remote instead of a physical switch on the fan itself. I need a 2nd fan for another room. I was waiting to see how this one worked out. Solid quality, good customer service... I'll be ordering another one.

We have replaced all of our ceiling fans with these fans. We have two in bedrooms, one in our family room and this one is in iur sunroom. All of the fans provide the convenience of using a remote control over pull chains. They are all very stable and quiet. We love them!

So THE FIRST thing you need to know is YOU CANNOT USE THIS FAN WITHOUT THE REMOTE CONTROL. There, I said it. Now, had I known that, or had it been in the description, or had I NOT assumed it would be like EVERY OTHER fan (remote optional), I probably would've passed on this fan. Remotes can be nice OPTIONS (for some), but as the sole means of operation? I don't like it and I don't trust it. Besides, the remote feels like the cheapest thing in the whole box too! This motor may last 15yrs, but the remote is questionable. As for the fan, well, it certainly feels durable. The motor is definitely NOT as heavy as some of the AC fan motors and that's fine, it actually makes installing a breeze. Fan comes with all the bells and whistles need for a clean install, (e.g. oversized cover to hide receiver, a couple of poles for different heights, caps for screws, etc) and the wood blades do a nice job, look very nice and cut the the air smoothly and quietly. Expect to get different wire nuts, the ones provided, while being orange ARE NOT rated for 14g wire! So if you're a 'do it yourselfer' and don't understand this, you would not properly be protecting your wires and risk bare wire exposure, melting from heat and or simple dead shorts. The wire nuts provided are blue rated 18g > (higher the number, thinner the wire) masquerading as orange. Do yourself a favor and go get actual 14g rated wire nuts (Orange or better yet, yellows) and be safe. Again, fan looks nice after install. Mine was balanced perfectly, no shake or wobble, so I didn't need the weights. Biggest concern for me was remote control only. Really annoying only to discover this AFTER install. OH and here's the kicker, I have the fan on a wall switch, so even if switch is turned off with fan running, IT DOES NOT resume operation when switch is turned back on, you MUST grab the remote to reactivate fan. That's even stupider. LoL. Well, I'm going to ride this out. I mean, yeah, it was $240, so I should be completely happy and satisfied, but at this point, I concede. My time is more valuable, the fan is up, it works and it looks nice, so we'll see. Hope it this helps.
