Good on the history and explanations

A decent romp through new higher level maths of the last 20 years. Good on the history and explanations, but quite a taxing read for someone whose speciality is not maths. It allows one to understand without being able to perform, which was just what I was looking for!

Our 12 year old daughter needs more challenge and this feeds her interest. She attended a gifted and talented course where the Professors said she was way beyond secondary school and we should get maths books to supply the deficit of the National Curriculum.
