What is the voltage range (max/min) of the 5000lm version? Just asking to figure out what the best battery chemistry is to use.

These bulbs are essentially direct drive, and the modes are created with PWM so the voltage range is very narrow. Ideally for the 5000 lumen you want right around 7.4v. 6x good quality NIMH D cells like Tenergy Centura or even Amazon basics are great. A pair of good quality high drain 26650 li-ion cells will also work. Even though 6x Alkaline cells are higher voltage than the other two options they don't carry a load well. The voltage sag under load is so much that you actually get less output using them. For the 2000 lumen 3x nimh D cells or a single 26650 are best.

Hi. You could use the 2000 lumen bulb in the 5D, only if you replace two of the batteries with "Dummy" D cells. That way you are only running 3 actual batteries. Any more than that would kill the bulb.

Does this work on standard rechargeable 3c Maglite

You would need to get a metal spacer (sold on my website) for the 2000 lumen bulb to fit your C mag properly. Also it would be a good idea to use NIMH rechargeable C cells like Tenergy brand. 3x alkaline C cells would not do a great job powering the 2000 lumen bulb. You would probly get only about 900 lumens using alkaline Cs.
