National Geographic Mega Science Lab with 75 Experiments for Kids 8-12

This is the coolest science kit. There are so many activities in the kit. My grandson loved doing the projects. Would highly recommend for kids interested in doing science projects. Good value for the money.

My 8-year-old son has been having a blast with this kit, which he got for Christmas. There is always something that he needs help to clean up completely afterwards, but he has gotten comfortable enough with reading the directions that he can be pretty self-directed and clean up most of the mess himself (mostly scattered powdered from when he opens bags or is pouring things and spills but also liquid spills when we erupted the volcano). He's also learned a lot about measuring from the experiments. (I don't think he had ever measured a liquid in a beaker or measuring cup before.) He gravitates toward the chemistry experiments the most. He keeps showing the crystal he grew to anyone who visits our house, so I think that has been one of his favorite experiments. On the mess part, just be aware that you will want to use a surface that is easy to clean. We've been using our tile floor and even sometimes doing experiments outside, weather permitting. Also, the company was very responsive when we thought we were missing items from our kit (many of which we later found that another family member had mixed in with their Christmas gifts) and responded immediately. So, extra star for fantastic customer service.

My 9 year old got this for Christmas and loves it. He loves science in general and this keeps him busy. Some stuff is a bit messy but does have some cool experiments in it.

My kids are really enjoying this kit. However, we noticed that the dig kit was missing as well as no googles. I tried to get in contact with the manufacturer to just send us those parts, but I have not heard anything. I do not want to return the entire kit as the kids love it and already started other experiments. Disappointed, but still enjoying all the other experiments.

It keeps the kids entertained

Grandson loved this set! He’s our aspiring scientist, so I got this for him for his recent birthday. There are a lot of projects to keep him busy and expand his knowledge. It’s educational, but still fun and keeps him engaged in the present moment instead of being on video games and internet all day. A little pricy but still a great value for all that it comes with and hours of learning and experimenting. Gotta love quality National Geographic products for kids!

This kit is fantastic! It kept my easily distracted, 8 year old son busy and interested over multiple days. Like coming home from school and instead of wanting the iPad, he was very excited to do experiments instead. There is a big variety of experiments. The instructions are easy to follow, but it was definitely a success working with a parent. Of all the National Geographic science/art sets that I’ve bought, this one is the very best!
