Very impressive sound, compact, fast connection over bluetooth
This bose speak is very impressive - its sound from such a small speaker is tremendous. The bass is lively, the midrange and treble is all there too.Battery life is fab, have only charged it once and used it for a few hours and its on 70% (it tells you this when you power it on).I like the way it connects very fast to Bluetooth on my phone, its almost instant. The back and around the edges is like a softer rubbery kind of feel and two bumps on its length at the bottom act as feet so it can lay down and face you to give you sound.Outdoors its really impressive, if fills a huge garden area, so you have to watch the sound levels so as not to annoy people. The performance of some other speakers I've tried (friends speakers) are bass overkill and are much larger. This Bose is spot on, it's got a lot of feeling and bass without being overwhelming to the point of needing to turn it down, and for such a compact speaker I don't know how they've managed it.We sometimes hang it off the door handle to give an ear height to the speaker when in the garden sat down.Easy to charge via a usb type c cable.Apparently it's ok to get it wet, I haven't tried this yet of course!Overall, I would not change this for anything else. Fits in a rucksack or bag easily due to its compact size, and feels substantial as it weighs 586grams - this thing won't blow over in the wind.Awesome, love it.

Sounds best outside
In my photo I've added a couple of rubber wristbands to the speaker for added protection.A bit of background, I'm a bluetooth speaker addict and own dozens of them, including several Bose speakers. The closest match to the Flex is my Soundlink Mini II.I noticed similarities between the sound from the Flex and the Mini II. Arguably the Mini II sounds better if it is pointing directly at your head, but it has a definite sweet spot as it's a very directional speaker. The Flex is not directional, and that's the main upgrade from my perspective. As long as you can see the speaker grill, it will sound nice.I first played the Flex indoors, and was a bit underwhelmed. The bass was too dominant and the highs too recessed. However, when I took it outside, the speaker began to shine. A good level of bass remained, but the highs were able to break through strongly, making the overall sound perfect for my taste. As others have said, when the bass drops in a song, you can't help but smile and be somewhat impressed by what this little speaker can do.I cranked the volume up to maximum indoors and it performed well. Not loud enough for a dance party, but more than you need for most other scenarios. The main upgrades over the Mini II:- USB-C charging- Can stand upright or be laid down for a kind of 360 degree sound- Waterproof- A lot more rugged- Less directional soundThe thing that surprisingly hasn't improved significantly, if at all, is the Bluetooth range, which sadly does seem to be roughly as stated. If your speaker is in your garden and you go inside with the device that's playing your music, the audio will likely break up and/or stop. This is the speaker's achillies heel.Battery life seems fine to me, long enough that it's not something you really need to worry about. In summary, despite having dozens of alternatives to choose from, this is the speaker that I find myself reaching for the most often, and is my new travel speaker of choice. Of course it's not perfect, but it is very good for the size. Think of it as very much a stand-alone mono speaker though. Bose don't do TWS for some reason, and believe me, stereo pairing of Bose speakers really is too much hassle to set up each time and very glitchy. Their equivalent of party mode does work, however, with 2 speakers playing in sync just by turning them on. Not in stereo though.I hope this was helpful!

Great sound. Quality.
It’s awesomeSuper base and just amazing sound. Goes loud enough. Fills a small room. Will piss of your neighbour if you crank it.Dose not distort. Connects by blu tooth well. The app sucks so don’t use it.Feels quality.A good by for sure. Was going to get another for stero pairing. But left it to long and don’t want to risk a buggrrd battery in a used module. No complaints at all.

Amazing Bluetooth speaker which has proved invaluable for a number of reasons
After watching countless Youtube videos on this product I took the plunge and bought the Bose Flex from Amazon. Nothing can prepare you for the sound that comes out of this small speaker. I already own a Bose Micro speaker and a Bose Revolve. I prefer the sound out of this and the form factor. When working from home I use the speaker connected to Microsoft Teams for meeting and it seamlessly connects to various devices at the same time so if I get a call on my mobile it switches over and in between meetings I can stream a news channel or radio through it from my personal laptop. When I'm in the office I can use it as a voice conference speaker with around 6 people in a meeting room on Microsoft Teams and when staying in hotels it enhances the sound of movies or TV playing on my tablet, great for audio books. I am a semi professional guitar player and agonise over EQ and sound. Some people don't like the fact there is no way to EQ this speaker but in my opinion it doesn't need it and it one less thing to have to mess about with. It's really well balanced and it really does sound amazing. I find it goes with me everywhere and is easy to transport because of the form factor. Everyone I have demo'd this speaker to has been blown away by the sound! If I had to pick cons, takes a while to charge and whilst 10 hours of battery life if fine for me it may not be for some people. If it helps I use this device with a Galaxy s22 Ultra, Surface laptop and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra with no issues.

Good job it's robust - it's so unstable!
There is little point in repeating the positive remarks about sound quality made by others, all of which I agree with. I would only add that in comparison with my Creative iRoar Go speakers (which have all failed to work properly within two or three years - hence moving to Bose) this speaker is at least as good in the bass department and better in the higher frequencies. Bose therefore wins for sound quality, in my view.Another plus over the iRoarGo is the USB-C charging socket. As my Samsung phone and tablet take the same plug, I can use one charger and cable to charge them all - more convenient, and less luggage on holidays. It is worth adding, however, that not all my USB wall plug chargers could charge the Bose. I have found that one marked 5V 2.0A (a charger which came with either my Samsung phone or Samsung tablet - I don't know which) was adequate. Not all my Samsung chargers will charge it, though. Some people have remarked on the failure of their speaker to alert them to the impending demise of the battery. Mine (purchased in April 2022) does. But, even more conveniently, when you switch it on it tells you the percentage of charge is left (in units of 10: 90%, 80% etc). Mine therefore never gets fully discharged (well, only once), because I am reminded to top it up before it gets too low. However, the overwhelming failure of this device, compared to the iRoar Go, is it's instability. I am surprised that this does not seem to have been mentioned by other reviewers. It's a good job it's made to be robust - withstanding a fall of 3 feet, I believe I read - because it is very likely to fall over thanks to the chamfered base, which means that it leans back slightly at an angle of 5°. If the speaker is leaned back a further 10° it falls backwards. The iRoar Go, which is already standing upright, has to be leaned back 20° before it begins to fall backwards. I admit that the leaning back is aesthetically pleasing and therefore suggest that, unusually for Bose, this is a case of style over substance.Nevertheless, forced to choose over my remaining iRoar Gos (I still have three, two of which still work properly), I still choose the Bose.

Super quality sound outdoors
I was looking for a lightweight speaker for use mainly outdoors, where I wouldn't want to crank the volume up too loud, and it was either this one or the JBL Flip 6 which is about £30 cheaper.Having used a Bose Soundlink, designed to drop iPod into for years (with a bluetooth adapter) I was really please with the build quality and the sound, so decided to go with the Flex. The sound quality is excellent and gives a really "big" sound, if you didn't see the unit, you'd think it was much larger to achieve such a soundIt's very bass heavy, which may not please some people, but considering there's only one drive unit in it, it handles the range of frequencies very well, and when turned up load, really fills a room without noticeable distortion. Gives a really good thumping sound to Techno and rock music, but equally gives a very pleasant rendering of a Beethoven Piano concerto..Always a "shot in the dark" buying audio equipment unheard, but I'm really happy with it, It's water and dustproof, but that doesn't concern me, very well constructed and , for me anyway, a much nicer design than the generic cylindrical shape of most small speakers.I use it with an iPhone, and as with my Bose headphones, it connects instantly when it's switched on, giving and audio description the battery level and the device connected. I've only tried it once receiving a phone call, and compared with the music sound level, the audio was very very quiet, and I had to turn the volume up to full to just about hear it, so that may be an issue if the ability to use it for phone calls was a deciding factor for purchase. All in all though, a great little speaker.

Great Purchase
I am so glad that i chose this Bose speaker. I have been looking for a decent, compact speaker for our garden parties. Alexa Echo's have let me down too many times in the past when we have been entertaining. After having read the reviews, i couldn't resist. I haven't put any stars for the battery life as i have only used it briefly once, after charging it, to try it out. The sound is clear and does not distort. I didn't want something big and bulky and was looking for a speaker that was waterproof, which this is. The cost i would say is reasonable for the sound quality. It didn't take long to charge, after i figured out which plug top to use. It wouldn't work with the first Samsung plug top but i tried another and it worked fine. Apparently each phone charger plug top has a different output (advised by my other half).Only slight disappointment, is that the charging cable is quite short. I bought the carry case from Amazon which is perfect and i cannot wait to buy another Bose Soundlink Flex so that we can use Party Mode or Stereo Mode. Don't hesitate, this is a great Bluetooth speaker.
