Catch on the same day of delivery
I have tried some sticky pad but mouse won’t be caught on it and will be cautious about those pad. But once I got this trap and put it in, once it’s dark, one mouse got caught! And at a price of about $1 a trap, pretty reusable - I can see a lot of times being used. Very satisfied customer!

You can't build a better mouse trap!
I have had quite a few different design mouse traps over the years. This one works! It has a hair trigger, so the slightest attempt by that critter to take the cheese and he's done for. These are good quality for a low price. They set easily if you aren't ham fisted. I like the bait paddle design as it holds the bait well making the little guy work for it, which you want. So far I haven't seen any bait eaten without a catch. Pro tip: try using store brand Velveeta as bait. It really sticks to the paddle. Of course, if you're feeling boojey by all means use the name brand.

I think these are the best traps for mice
I like this type of trap. With the wide trigger, if you place them in tight spaces (like besides and behind the fridge), you don't even need to bait them. I just line 3 traps in a row and make sure that theres no space for them to go around the traps, and wait. It might seem like a lot of traps, but eventually you need to throw these things out. If you haven't checked the trap in weeks, the trap can get disgusting from the dead mouse decomposing. If you catch enough mice with the trap, the staple holding the middle bar will dislodge and no longer work. But thats after years of work and the single trap has gotten like 40-50 mice (I live in the country, surrounded by woods, and have chickens and their feed attracts mice and moles like no tomorrow). I can't remember how much these were, but for a quarter or 50 cents, these things are definitely worth it.

These work, but you need to put in some effort.
Small, traditional mousetraps built and sold for cheap. Work well enough if you're just dealing with a few house or field mice; excessively tedious for use against large colonies. Very manual. You'll need to learn: 1. How to set them safely. Supplied instructions are inadequate, so search "How To Set A Mouse Trap". 2. How to bait them. Use cheap peanut butter (or cheap cheese). 3. How to place them where mice will go and your pets and children won't. Put them near walls and edges or corners. 4. How to unload them. Lift trap bar, let mouse slide out, wash hands. 5. (sometimes) How to trap mice that get smart about swiping food without triggering the trap. Use the loose-to-tight adjustment (doesn't work particularly reliably), weight the bait pad with a small coin (this is tricky to do without accidentally setting off the trap, but does work), or place lots of traps and hope one gets the little sucker.

Cheap and very effective.
These things really work. The peppermint spray was useless and the deterrent sounds wore off, but I set out 4 traps and caught 4 mice the first night, and they continued to perform the next few days until there were no mice left. They need to be carefully placed though, half the time the poor mouse was pinned by a broken spine and had to be personally dispatched with a rock.

Traps need modifications to work effectively due to poor quality control in manufacturing.
I live in the woods and deer mice and field mice are everywhere. Several years back I had a lot of wonderful rain which produced a bumper crop of pinion seeds a couple years later. This caused an explosion of many rodents and mice were no exception. I have used these types of traps successfully for years and this year I trapped so many darn mice it was almost beyond comprehension. Unfortunately, sometimes when you have trapped a mouse, some other critter carries it off, taking your trap with it and not usually found. So, I had to buy some more traps. This last package I received are poorly made with the metal arm too long to provide any sensitivity to the trap pan which has resulted in my bait being eaten without the trap being tripped. I have now modified some of the components in order for the trap to function more effectively. Time will tell whether I catch any mice or not. Thus, the quality control of the traps does not seem to be what it used to be and I should not have to modify a trap to get it to work as it should. Therefore, three stars for the product.

Barely adequate compared to competition
These traps do trap mice. I feel bad giving such a low review, since I grew up with this type of trap, although perhaps not this manufacturer. Things to know: I use peanut butter as bait. It tends to flow over the bait shelf. Use only really solid, but sticky, bait. The release mechanism is sensitive, which is good for catching mice, not so good for your fingers when setting traps. When the little mouse head is crushed under the bail, or maybe the mouse has simple been constricted to death, it is not easy to remove the mouse without touching it. I don't mind that much The mouse is dead, and hantavirus is worse in other parts of the country. As I said, I bought some of these and some black plastic ones of a different design. I had a lot of places to cover, so I bought more of the other kind. These, I believe, were less costly, maybe even half the price. And, they do trap and kill mice. There was nothing low quality or deceptive. There are just better mousetrap.
