I am A motorcycle mechanic. Bought this in hopes it would cover all my s of an expensive power prob. This power prob works out of this world. It an extremely easy to use and operate. Its functionality is extremely reliable and clean signal reading. I recommend this for any type of mechanical work you are doing.

Worst purchase ever. Stopped working just after a month. They don't pickup the call and even don't reply the email for warranty claim.

This has all the bells and whistles, but not much other accessories. I had asked if they had an extension for working on trailer wiring, the seller wrote back and said one is not needed because of the 20' cord...(apparently short trailers in china). One thing I need for farm repairs is tracing trailer and damaged equipment wiring. I had to buy a 30' wire extension reel from HF., but that's not a great solution. There is a voltmeter (only to tenth of a volt), a ohmmeter/beeper, a relay test jig, crude o-scope, a wire identifier (indicates a + or a gnd source), an adjustable power source up to 5V @ 100ma for testing, and adjustable current limit feature to supply the tip with either a positive 12V or grounded tip (this is a relay switching circuit that you can hear when in pulse mode). This tip activation mode is controlled in the menu and may be safer than just a probe with a rocker switch... I don't know how robust this circuit is, just using it to test those pesky LED trailer lights so far, though it should test a brake coil (3-4A ea). This puts everything in one package but recommend at least have a good DMM, because the black lead is always grounded. It is hard to remember NOT to use it like a multimeter, don't measure across something unless it is disconnected. The assembled "smart hook" is huge with the probe attached, fortunately, you can remove the probe tip and use the jumper wire to the probe for using just the probe. I have not used its other features much, trailer wiring,AC relays and switches. I am not sure why this product would need an update, unless they suspected there were bugs, it is not a internet device. NOTE: while the hookup clamps are pretty large, one side of the jaw has no connection... There is no mention of how to use the current feature in the DMM section. You need to push the ok button ( push ok and arrow down at the same time to latch it on) and the green light comes on and supplies ground thru the meter tip to measure current. This means you need the power already supplied to the part. Hitting the ok button to deactivates the current mode, but one time it stayed on and I had to disconnect power to reset it(bug). Another way would be to use the "activation" to supply power and that reads current, B+ voltage and tip voltage (load voltage) up to the set limit. There is a link for the manual on the amazon page.
