I use this often, however, it can be salty if you only use chicken broth. I use half chicken broth and half water...( Low sodium chicken broth). Of course I add my own seasoning, but it's always great! It is pricey!!!

Easy to follow recipe, tasted great. I used crawfish tails.

Nice surprise! We took a chance on this mix for the holidays and were pleasantly pleased with the flavor. We did add in some Popeye’s turkey to the mix and that made a pretty massive difference in the overall flavor I believe but it was still good regardless. As a true Cajun, I can get behind this mix-the flavor, the quality, and the value. It’s all there. Give it a try!

Very good base

I looked forward to making a pot of Cajun gumbo and really wanted to love it, or at least like it. I enhanced the instructions by using quality chicken broth instead of water; I added sautéed finely diced Holy Trinity (celery, onion and bell pepper); and browned smoked sausage, to serve over white rice. The flavor was quite strong and not good. Way too salty. Very disappointing. I wish I could salvage it instead of throwing out a whole pot of gumbo that took time and money to prepare. I am curious if I got a bad batch cuz I had read good reviews before purchasing.

Real good flavor worth the money

Toss the grits. My package was not old ( good til 2028) but, grits had a funky bad cheese taste which ruined the dish. Smelled like the inside of an old sneaker. I've lived in LA and Carolinas and this dish of grits would be be sent back to the restaurant kitchen. Seasoning package for shrimp was good and tasty. To spend $10 for this box and only use the tablespoon of shrimp seasoning is a waste of money. " C'est BAD"
