DEWALT Cutting Wheel, All Purpose, 4-Inch (DW8061B5), 4 Inch by 0.045-Inch

In my garage, my 4 1/2" angle grinder is my go to tool for most cutting, grinding, and heavy abrasion/cleaning tasks. Seeing heavy use, I go through dozens of cutoff and grinding wheels annually and these Dewalt Type 1 (flat center) wheels work very well. The cut straight, clean, fast, and I've never had one break under normal use. I also use plenty of their Type 27 (depressed center) wheels with much success. These are on par with other top performers such as SAIT and Norton. Note that these are designed for cutting Ferrous metals, not aluminum, copper, brass, etc. If you're cutting these softer, nonferrous metals or other materials such as glass, ceramics or tile, use the proper wheel, because these wheels will clog and will no longer cut effectively. Also, you have to remember that these are an inexpensive wheel with very basic aluminum oxide chemistry. If you want a longer life wheel, look for ceramic aluminum oxide or zirconia aluminum wheel, they'll last longer, but you'll pay more.

These were a "suggested purchase," after I clicked on the DeWalt cordless, 18v angle grinder. I assumed they were the perfect size, but found that they were a bit smaller than the single disk that came with the grinder. So just know that the grinder can take a 4.5" disk, but these are only 4.0". They are of high quality, though, so they get 5 stars (It's my own fault for assuming they were the right size, just because they were suggested.) These are so useful for cutting and installing wire fencing around the perimeter of my property.

Nothing wrong with these blades but they come up as a product recommendation with 7/8 inch blades and grinders, and these are 5/8. I should have looked at the picture than rely on the nondescript product header on the thumbnail. This is more of an amazon feature gone wrong than anything. Like buying a bosch hammer drill and they recommend bits that fit a drive for a hitachi. So please check item info guys to make sure it'll fit your grinder!

This is a review of the DeWalt DW8061B5 4” by .045” Metal and Stainless Cutting Wheel 5/8” Arbor 5 Pack. Summary – I wanted a few cutting discs to be used with my Porter Cable PC60TAG 6amp 4 ½” angle grinder and found these to be what I wanted and needed. They will do your cutting needs fine (used on stainless bolts in my case) and did not cost an arm and a leg. I find these wheels would be ideal for the home do it yourself type of person. Great for small to medium sized tasks. For large tasks and or for longer use between changes, you may want to go with a higher quality wheel. Some of the features entailed a .045” wheel design for fast and burr free cutting. Uses aluminum oxide grain combination for aggressive cutting as well as 2 full sheets of fiberglass to assist with safety and being durable. Overall I am very happy for the price range and would recommend.

didn't last very long but cut the thick steel very quickly with cordless grinder

GREAT cutting wheel(s)... I can get plenty of cuts in stainless steel with these that lesser wheels get the crap kicked out of them on. Put them on a good DeWalt right angle grinder and you'll have no issue at all. I've used these with a cordless DeWalt grinder (lower rpm than the corded version) and they still ate the stainless steel (empty sanke kegs) really well. I have more of these on hand, since I'm continuing to modify metal items and I know they'll more than do the job.

The lazy cable guy left a crappy old mount for a satellite dish with our coax cable threaded through it. The only way to free up the cables without cutting them was to cut the metal mount. This was the 'right tool for the job' as it made quick work of cutting through the mount. These work great!
