Thanks for reaching out about this. Re-Lyte was born from our desire to create a simple, clean, and real electrolyte mix that we could share with our families and friends, but our early formulations were too salty for most people. After a lot of research, we decided to improve the flavor of Re-Lyte by adding the natural sweetener stevia.

We liked that stevia is low-carb and calorie-free for our keto and fasting communities. We also liked that we could use rebaudioside A, which is less bitter and tastes better than some of the other stevia leaf extract options.

Stevia is also more earth-friendly than some alternatives. It can be grown and prepared using much less water, energy, and land to achieve the same amount of sweetness found in other natural sweeteners.

The stevia in Re-Lyte is Non-GMO Project Verified. It’s not certified organic but is 100% stevia and does not contain erythritol, maltodextrin, or other additives. It’s extracted from stevia leaf through natural processes and is not treated with irradiation or chemical substances.

Stevia only makes up 2% or less of each serving of flavored Re-Lyte, but if you prefer a hydration product that’s completely stevia-free, you should try our Re-Lyte Caps or (if you don’t mind a salty drink) our Unflavored Re-Lyte.

Our original formula stick sampler is currently available and being fulfilled by Amazon. It will be mid-summer before the new formula sticks are here-- and you'll know the difference since they have been re-branded as Re-Lyte Hydration and the packaging has a new look.
