I purchased this as a gift for my fiance, and he cannot stop raving about it. I saw an ad about this camera on Facebook, and decided to take the plunge. Someone recently hit my fiance's car, and having a dash cam offers a bit more peace of mind in case something like that happens. He was able to get the camera set up quickly, and link it to his phone without issues. The video quality is amazing, day or night, and he's able to record long periods of video without needing to clear out the camera memory. The camera will also overwrite old footage if it runs out of storage, without needing to be manually cleared. He is absolutely obsessed with this, and is so happy with this camera so far. Hoping to get one for myself when it finally comes back in stock! Update, July 2022: I ended up buying myself a dash cam, and it paid itself off earlier this year by catching a hit and run driver! My car was parked in a parking lot and hit, and the person drove off. There was very obvious damage to my door and it ended up being an expensive fix. My dash cam turned on and caught the license plate, car color, and car type clearly during the night. We were able to find the driver and they were held responsible for the damages they did to my car. I also bought one for my dad, who is very excited to learn how to use his. This little dash cam is great, and I am so happy we have them for our vehicles!

Great camera

First, this camera works seamlessly with my iPhone. There is a setting where it AUTOMATICALLY starts recording when the vehicle begins moving, I do not have to turn it on or start anything. 2nd, it does NOT have to be on my screen for it to record what is happening, it kept working in the background with no problems with any of the other apps I used on my phone including Waze for directions, audiobooks, Spotify, etc. I could open the Nexar app anytime and have the screen show the view/recordings as they were happening, but I didn't feel like I needed to. EXPERIENCE: Used it on our 21 hour drive to Florida. In stop and go traffic we had a hard breaking incident and a notification came up that it felt the hard breaking event and it was automatically saving the clip (it obviously turned out to be nothing), but it was great that that it was automatic and I wouldn't have to worry if something bad would happen because the clip would automatically be saved. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is it comes with a dual plug to go into the charging port in my car. Very thoughtful of Nexar, right? That way the camera always stays plugged in and there is another port for charging a phone. HOWEVER, for some reason every time someone tried to plug another charger into the 2nd outlet port, it would blow the fuse on my car. It took me a while to figure out the problem the first time. (Camera setup was like 5 minutes and everything worked great, then I plugged my phone charging cord in and was going for a drive then nothing worked. Like WTH???). By process of elimination figured it out (had a spare fuse) and all was good (and the fuse was only for the cig lighter/charging port so nothing else was affected.) Until hubs decided to charge his phone in the spare port and same thing happened again. No spare fuse, so had to wait to go buy a new one. I bought a couple, which was good cause child then plugged in phone for charging and there went fuse again. So now there is duct tape over the spare charging port and we had to get a longer charging cord to use the back seat charger (which is a minor inconvenience). Unfortunately, only 1 phone can be charged at a time then (we have not tried to see if dual charger in the back would work for 2 phones at once without blowing the fuse), but that is literally my only criticism of the camera. And I do not know if this is a problem with my car (20 amp fuse is standard for these ports) so somehow the camera and phone together overloaded the fuse, but not sure if it is the camera's fault or charger or my car.) Otherwise, it is VERY easy to read the instructions and set the camera to automatically turn on when a drive starts and to also run in the background so your phone works 100% normal while recording what is going on while driving (the exception could be if you want a different wifi in the vehicle since it uses it's own wifi system to connect with a phone, but we don't have car wifi or anything so had no issues with that either.)

I thought NEXAR would be a great dash cam because of how it works well with an iPhone. However, I didn't realize that it was completely dependent on your phone to do anything. When Nexar works, it's super cool, but getting it to work makes it not worth it. Let me explain: In order for the camera to record, it needs to be connected to your phone via a wifi connection. Why this is necessary and it can't just start recording when it receives power? I have no idea. This leads to a few problems. First, if I don't have my phone on me, the dash cam is no more than a brick attached to my windshield. Next, if for some reason my phone doesn't pickup the camera's wifi signal automatically, the camera will just never record and there will be no indication of that. I've had drives where halfway through I realize the camera isn't recording and need to start it manually. Imagine someone hitting you where you needed your video proof for insurance and the camera was on but just not recording. This is unacceptable to me. The next problem is when the camera is connected to my phone, my phone might never disconnect after the drive. My car is parked about 1 room away from where my bedroom is. Some nights, I would get home and start streaming on my phone and realize hours later that my phone is on 5G instead of wifi. This is because it never disconnected from the camera. So while my dash cam is still in my car recording nothing and wasting space, I'm wasting my expensive phone data because I wasn't far enough to disconnect automatically. These are all problems a dash cam should never have. The small features that nexar brings over standard dash cams (GPS map, decent looking app, notifications) are in no way worth all the hassle this camera comes with. I returned mine after about a week of use realizing that it's just not a well thought out product. I got a Rexing dash cam which, at half the cost, is way more reliable and records each drive without the need for an iPhone app. The app should be optional, not a requirement for the basic functions of the camera. One star

Very hard to beat Nexar. This is the second camera I have bought with them. Streaming the videos directly to your phone and uploading them to their cloud is seamless. After using other dash cams with SD cards and internal storage, I will never go back to those models after using Nexar. Hassle free and easy to look up any recent drive. The image quality is superb. The sound on the videos can be a little hard to understand at highway speeds >60mph but I feel like that has more to do with my cars ability to block out road noise, not the camera itself. Decent sound quality comes through at <50mph. Grab this camera when they go on sale and you will not be disappointed. Oh, and did I mention it takes less that 10min to install? The tool it comes with to help hide the cable is excellent. Tip: I would recommend using a good glass cleaner and getting your windshield VERY CLEAN using 1 or 2 microfiber clothes before installing (Second cloth to ensure all the cleaning product is off and the windshield is dry). This will ensure you get a great picture in your camera and other lights when driving at night won't have as much deflection.

This is my first dash cam, so I can't compare it to others. I chose Nexar based on reviews, the app, and free cloud storage. Setting it up was very easy. Suction cups usually don't hold, but this one is sturdy and tight. They provide ample cord length to snake it around the windshield and seat and provided some clips to keep the cord in place. After downloading the app and turning the car in, the device paired itself practically instantly. Videos are clear, day or night. If you want audio in your drive videos you must manually enable it in settings. One major disadvantage is it doesn't have motion detection or shock sensors so if you are hit while parked, it won't catch anything. It's only on when the car is on. Others have mentioned it only starts recording 5 minutes into the drive, but I haven't experienced this. Mine is already recording while I'm still taking stuff out of my pockets before I pull out of the driveway. So far I love it, but if I were to get another, I'd definitely choose a dash cam that will turn on and record from motion/shock.

The camera is of great quality, the video looks nice and crisp. The reason for only giving it 3 starts is because of the lack of functions. You are not able to get the videos of the SD card through the app, which I think is ridiculous. Also if you use wireless Android Auto or Apple Carplay, you will not be able to have the camera constantly saving the videos to your phone as it interferes with the connection. Overall a good camera but not worth it due to the lack of features.

Great little camera. Clever use of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to talk with your phone and upload drives and key moments to your phone and the cloud. However, this can use your battery power and if you don’t charge your phone as you drive, this might be an issue. My only other issue is that sometimes drives don’t appear on your phone. They’re all saved on the Micro SD card, so it’s not a major problem. Overall though, it’s neat and discreet, which is what I was after.

Pros: The video quality is really good. The Nexar app is very user friendly and records all the trips automatically once you sync your phone with the dash cam. You also have an option to select memory space on your phone to store the videos. This buy is spectacular value for money. GPS an added bonus in case your car lacks Apple CarPlay or Anroid Auto. Cons: Not sure how useful is the parking feature since it records the car front once collision or disturbance is identified. Overall an amazing product , Cheers

Devuelvo el articulo porque me interesaba tener un almacenamiento en la nube como se anuncia en la descripción, sin embargo, el artículo es de excelente calidad, pero el acceso a la app Nexar es imposible ya que no hay cobertura en México para el almacenamiento en línea de los videos que va grabando el dispositivo, solo se grabarán las imágenes y video de manera local. El código SMS que se requiere para acceder a la aplicación no es generado, el servicio al cliente es súper rápido, contestan en inglés, pero solo confirmaron que México no tiene la disponibilidad de almacenamiento online, este era para mí la justificación de la compra y lo que marcaba la diferencia con otras cámaras disponibles en el mercado.

Had it for almost a year now and works very well even at cold temperatures (-30°C) and love it, already sent a video as witnesses of an accident and police received it in a second Clear night recording, can see every details either day and night (Edit): After 4 years of owning it, still works like new!
