These work really well! If you don’t have these get them. Makes life a whole lot easier on tear downs making less of a mess. Or the potential for having to drain a ton of fluid. Not with these, just block it off.

Despite working as an auto technician for several years, I never had a set of these clamping pliers. I always used a set of needle nose vise grips with vinyl tubing over the jaws to protect the hose I was clamping shut. It worked fine, but it meant that my vise grips were clamped onto a hose instead of in my tool cart in case I needed them. I recently had to work on two different fuel systems-- my motorcycle, and my lawn tractor. Out of curiosity I searched for hose clamping pliers and saw that I could buy this set for $15. At that price I decided they were worth the gamble. Let's be honest-- you'll never mistake these for a set of Snap On pliers. They feel a bit flimsy and even at their tightest setting, they don't clamp as tightly as a really good set of hose clamp pliers. However, I've used them on 2 different fuel hoses so far and not a single drop leaked out once these were tightened down. In other words, they won't win any prizes but they work fine. Since I don't do this for a living any more, that's fine by me. I wouldn't expect these to stand up to heavy use in a shop, but if you're a starting tech or a home-gamer, these would probably work fine. I do like the fact that some have angled jaws to allow you to reach hard-to-get hoses, and they come in a good mix of sizes. This is a good kit to have if you don't want to spend a lot of money but still need something of reasonable quality to get you started.

Works well, used these for a mechanical water temp gauge install on my car. Easy clamping, tight fit, no leaks during install. Allowed me to cut out a section of radiator hose w ease.

I used this hose‑clamp plier set for fuel and coolant lines, and the jaws lock onto spring clamps with enough bite to keep them from slipping while you reposition hoses. The steel construction holds up well under repeated squeezing without flexing, and for the price the set delivers good durability and value for anyone working with fuel, gas, brake, or radiator lines.

They worked flawlessly for stopping fuel lines which made changing fuel filter and a spray nozzle for my Hydro-Hot heating system on my RV. Im confident these will last for years if treated properly.

I’d go with another type. These don’t entirely clamp off the hose. There is a large gap where they scissor and it won’t shut the hose supply off that well.
