Hello, what is the half-life of the tablet when it is crushed instead of taken whole? Does it lose its time release effect if you crush it?

The 100 mg tabs are NOT time release and are chewable, by design. The 200 mg tabs are time release and should not be crushed or chewed as it will destroy the slow absorption mechanism. 5htp absorbs quickly and deteriorates rapidly in the system, which is it's major drawback, so crushing or chewing these is not advisable.

No I have not. I have been taking for about 6 months now.

My most recent purchase was in Nov which has exp of Mar 31, 20.

How does this compare to the reguar release version?

I don’t know, I haven’t taken the other, but I sleep pretty well with the time release and most importantly, I can usually go back to sleep if I wake up or get up during the night.
