Have been wearing the generic/standard sling I received in the ER for my broken collarbone for 3 weeks. So much risk of an errant movement that will set healing back to zero. Got this one today and its a game changer. By locking down my bicep I can't accidently move my shoulder. Having my wrist held more securely does the same while allowing me to loosen it to eat or sleep. It's also more comfortable. Feel it will be more reliable for driving and working out. Ordering another one.

This is an excellent product, especially considering the price. I screwed up my shoulder at the gym and needed to give it some time to heal. Every time I extended my arm out to my side or above my head, it hurt like a beast, so I needed something to keep me from moving my arm around too much while I was going about my daily activities. This product is extremely lightweight, and unlike traditional slings, it does't go over the neck or shoulder and put uncomfortable pressure on those areas. It's also easy to slip your lower arm out of the wrist loop as needed so you can type or eat with both hands while the elbow loop still keeps your upper arm at your side. Word of caution, though - make sure you order at LEAST one size above what you'd normally wear. I'm a size 6-8 dress, usually wear a medium in women's shirts, and the large fits me perfectly. I normally order a size small in unisex items like this, but I have the feeling a small size in this would fit a Barbie doll. Other than the sizing issues, however, this is a wonderful product and I'm extremely pleased.

Ordered size 3 that fits me well. I am 5'6" and 162 lbs, medium build. Wear a size large top or medium if not fitted. Had implant switch-out surgery. Moved a bit too much and ended up with open wounds. All but one healed so had another surgery. Bought this to keep my arm close to my body in hope of preventing another round of popped stitches. Three weeks in and so far it seems to be working. Got another 5 weeks to go. If I get to hating it, I will update. Have been wearing this 90% of 24/7. Not too difficult to use. Only wish that the arm band part was easier to adjust. I either have to preset it and slip my arm through or need someone's help to get it snug. Definitely appreciate not having a sling around my neck. Wrist holder works well for me as I sleep.

Should be cotton so no abrasive marks on the skin

I used this sling to immobilize my arm after a proximal humerus fracture. It was so much more comfortable than the other slings, and nicer quality for less than the cost of the one from the ortho.

I just had a pacemaker installed and after surgery you can't raise your arm over your shoulder or behind your back without risk of tearing the wire out of your heart before it heals in place. This harness lets me work without worry of accidentally moving wrong and risking dangerous complications, and at night I can use the cuff in front to further restrict movement during sleep. It beats the hell out of a sling, and I tried a few of those. This does exactly what I need at a fair price point. Read the sizing chart, because the size I bought has minimal overlap and would not fit a much larger torso.

Velcro should always be sewn with the hook part AWAY from the body. This has the hooks facing your skin. The edging is also very coarse and irritating. After a few days wear the body strap velcro started curling. I used a cut off sock between my skin and the straps, because the whole thing is scratchy. This seemed to be the only immobilizer available. If you have another choice, don't pick this one.

Comfortable to wear and works well

Highly adjustable, I tore a tendon in my shoulder, pain was, well, very difficult to tolerate. I immobilized my shoulder for a couple of nights and this helped me sleep despite what meds said to not immobilize my shoulder. Sometimes, you need to do what you think and this product helped my get through the night :)
