William's crowded hours

I LOVE the Just William series and hate to give less than 5 stars. The only reason it happened in this case is because this particular edition is abridged, which I don't see the point of. The book itself is very good, but it is not the whole book.

As a lifelong reader and collector of Richmal Crompton's 'William' books, this was bought to replace my old copy that had got ruined by damp a few years ago. 'William's Crowded Hours' has always been one of the more outstanding collections among them all for me, containing several, memorable, short stories, such as 'William and the Temporary History Master,' 'The Outlaws and Cousin Percy' and 'A Crowded Hour With William.' - Absolutely priceless, laugh-out-loud stuff every time for me!All 'William' books should be available on NHS prescription, in my opinion!This one was in very good condition and hardly read, by the look of it. It contained all of Thomas Henry's original line-illustrations and I was also relieved to find that it was NOT an 'abridged' edition - something that the original publishers had done in the 'sixties to keep prices down (Full, ten stories, rather than cut down to seven!).An absolute bargain!
