extraordinary strength
I recently moved to Colorado, a state that requires front license plates on motor vehicles. My Sprinter van has a license-plate-sized flat area on the front bumper but no pre-drilled holes. In my previous home in New Mexico this wasn't an issue, front license plates were not required. I wasn't thrilled about drilling holes and hoping for the best in what amounts to a plastic bumper, so I looked into alternatives. I saw this product discussed and recommended repeatedly on 'van life' videos, frequently for attaching flexible solar panels directly to the roof of the vehicle. Several were multi-year tests without any problems, no solar panels flying off the roofs, etc. I decided to give this a shot. The roll of tape arrived with zero instructions. None. It was early December in CO and I wasn't sure about minimum temperature requirements, so I went to the product page on the 3M website. Room temperatures recommended (uh oh!) but application seemed OK down to around temps in the 50s F. I waited for a warm-ish day. We had a clear sunny day with a high projected in the mid to upper 50s - it's only going to get colder in the next couple months so it was now or Spring. FYI the day before I worked indoors, cut three strips of tape and applied to the license plate, leaving the backing on, and clamped it overnight. I parked the van with the front bumper pointed south. Washed the area with very warm soapy water, rinsed with very warm water. let it dry and then sprayed and then wiped alcohol on the area (I know, 'belt and suspenders' approach). Peeled off the backing and applied the plate to the bumper, pressed as hard as I could and for as long as these old, arthritic hands could muster, probably was only a couple minutes though it felt like forever. So far all is well. The license plate is still attached, have been on very rough roads, highway at 60+ mph, all good. Time will tell.

Great tape!
This tape is amazing!! Used it to put on new truck bed rails, and the adhesion is awesome.

Wow, just...wow.
If you need a good double-sided tape that's removable, DON'T BUY this! If, on the other hand, you need double-sided tape to stick two things together for good, this is the stuff you need. OK, I suppose you could pry this apart if you really needed to, but you are going to have your work cut out for you. This is seriously sticky double-sided tape meant for industrial applications. I've used it to stick plastic to aluminum, rubber to steel plate, fiberglass to metal, etc. One repair was for a tractor fiberglass panel, one for an outside sign and one for a metal plate I use as a portable anvil that needs a rubber backing to absorb hammer blows. In all cases, this stuff has lasted years with no separation, no slippage, no nothing other than doing the job it was intended to do. My only negative is that once the exposed side is stuck, it's tricky to peel off the protective red separation layer from the other side. But that's a one-time challenge for a lifetime of intended use.

It's VHB tape, you know what it does
Outside of industrial uses, this double sided tape is the best you can get for anything reasonable. By reasonable I don't mean holding up a poster on your wall, this is overkill for that, I mean putting a poster in an expensive, heavy frame, and then putting on your wall. You could probably get away with mounting a shelf to the wall with this stuff, then set your poster in frame on top of that shelf. It just works... So long as you let it set/cure for a little bit. I find that when mounting something heavy I need to hold it in place for a few minutes to let the adhesive do its work, otherwise it will probably fall off. That's probably a good quality because it allows you some time to reposition things if they aren't quite right the first time.
