Needed a chisel to indent the metal ring on the old one. Also used a seal puller, but honestly, a chisel and a screwdriver (dull) are all you need. Cannot just pull it out with a seal puller, you have to crush a side with a chisel. I used a small 4 inch long chisel - worked like a charm and easy to do. To put the new one in I tried using the wheel bearing socket which is 35mm and fits the thick metal back of the seal very well. I could not seat it well however, one side was always in and the other out. I ended up tapping the new bearing using the 35mm socket very lightly, just to get it started, then I used the flat end of a 1/2" extension rod and tapped it in gently going around the edge in a circle. Saw this method in a youtube video from Asia. Low tech worked really well! Took a bit of time but seal is perfect.

RE: ACDelco GM Original Equipment 24202835 Automatic Transmission Front Axle Shaft Seal The vehicle fitment guide picked this oil seal for a 4T65E transmission in a 2002 Buick LeSabre final drive axle from the transmission case to the CV axle. I verified the part with GM websites and it is correct. Shipping was fast. I was not able to drive to the Auto parts store and pick up a generic seal. Prefer GM OEM parts for Grandma's Buick.
