For Times Like These - We Need the Christian Armor
I have been reading this work on Kindle. Gurnall is very thorough in writing on this particular subject. He is Christ-centered and I find his thoughts concerning our need for the Christian armor most enlightening. It has been a soul searching read. The volume reprinted in the modernized abridgement is an easier read because the Kindle edition is in old English and I found myself having to go back to a dictionary to read some passages with understanding. I am continuing my reading in the kindle edition but will read the modernized abridgement once I have completed my first read.

I read and studied all three and I am about to read them again. Should I say more? I have been a Christian for nearly 50 years and have read many books. If I could only have one set it would be these books. Get them and read them and waste no time!

It is not possible to praise this work highly enough. I have been reading through it slowly just to enjoy the richness of Gurnall's exposition. He is thoroughly biblical, penetratingly insightful, pastoral in his tone. He aims for the heart and hits his mark.Read it slowly, prayerfully, patiently. It will repay your labors.
