The battery eliminator is listed as a replacement to the factory battery. The radio power output with the original battery was about 6 watts but when the battery eliminator is used the radio power output drops to about 2 watts. Very short transmissions with the radio caused the back of the battery eliminator to get hot -- very hot. I returned the battery eliminator.
