WEN Metal Shear, Swivel Head, Variable Speed, 18-Gauge, 4-Amp (3650)

Awesome tool. Used this extensively for cutting FRP sheets during our enclosed trailer renovation. It cuts through them like butter with zero dust and minimal mess.

This shear is a true blessing for the sheet metal cutting work I needed it for. I'm getting old and my arthritic hands are thanking me for buying this and at the same time, cursing me for not buying one sooner. It cuts cleanly and fast.

These are perfect for a small to medium project. If you are putting a roof on a shed, perfect. If you are using these commercially you better invest in something better. These work fine, but are frustrating if you are trying to go over the humps in most roofing metals. You really have to work it! The jaws dont open wide enough to catch the beginning of the hump so you have to work it up and down and push to get it to start over it. Other than cutting the bumps, these work like a hot knife in butter. Lengthwise cuts parallel to the bumps are smooth and simple. It was easy enough to use that my 14 year old handled it on the lengthwise cuts. It doesn't require much muscle. The motor does seem stout enough to work for a good while like a higher quality tool would. For the price it was perfect for our no-budget small shed roof project. We probably wont use the tool again after this projrct. We are reusing metal from an old roof so each piece has to be cut to length. I would find another option if I was doing a larger project or needed to do a ton of cuts.

I’m building a small addition. I am using 28 gauge low rib metal. The shear cut through the metal without any issues. I’ve cut ruffly 40 foot of valley so far and am impressed with the tool.

I was working on a chicken coop, and using hardware cloth for all the walls, and after cutting through and completing one section with manual pliers and cutting my hands up and hurting my hand and knuckles from clipping every single wire in the 1/2in 4ft wide roll, I decided I needed a new tactic. I was making a new area over 5 times larger than the first section and I knew I wouldn't make it through the next section. I spent the money on this with the sole purpose of using it this one time, and it was well worth it. I will hang on to it in case I need it in the future but it cut down(pun intended) on my cut time by an extremely significant amount of time. Now if you expect to need heavy use from this, I can't say if it'll hold up, but for occasional use it should be just fine. It is a little tricky to get the positioning perfect especially if you are by yourself and holding the wire down to keep it from curling while you cut, but when you get the hang of it, it cuts straight through no problem, but when it gets off a little it will stick and seemingly won't cut but that's because it is essentially jammed.

I’m sure this works great, but is was just too heavy. Would need both hands to hold the tool making it difficult to guide material. Ended up using regular tin snips. Took a lot longer, but got it done.

I purchased the WEN metal shears for a mini barn that I was building. I have not worked with sheet metal siding or roofing in the past so searched for a corded shear to make my flat cuts. These shears are great for flat sheet metal and some small ridges but use caution that they do not cut large ridges like pole barn siding. But these types of shears are not made for that type of cutting and ended up using an angle grinder for cuts that the metal shears could not do. I especially like the swivel option to be able to hold the shears at more comfortable angles and do a great job of creating a clean strait cut when following your lines. Overall the WEN metal shears are very easy to use and are great quality that will work nicely for my next project!

Very impressed on the trial cuts . I am cutting 18 gauge steel with ease compared to grinding . I would say I can cut 8ft in under 1 minute no problem with this tool vs 2 zip discs , potential personal damage and about 10 minutes , yes , this steel is very hard Good buy for the buck for my purposes

Comme premier projet, j'ai découpé une tôle de piscine de 50 pi en quatre longueurs pour doubler un bac de jardinage. Le travail est précis et rapide, ne laissant pas de bord coupant ni de barbes dangereuses à manipuler. Il crée un ruban en spirale de 1/4 po qui devient une perte, mais à part cet inconvénient, il coupe tout ce que je peux couper avec de bonnes cisailles, mais tellement plus rapidement, en éliminant presque tout danger de se couper. La première impression est excellente.

It works smoothly and cuts through easily. The only issue with it is that the cutting head cannot be rotated quickly and without an Alan key.
