Buy Jailbreak: The Making and Breaking of Our Invisible Prisons-An IFS Informed Escape by Huebner, Angela J. (ISBN: 9780578985107) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Dr. Huebner has managed to write a self-help book that resonates with therapists as much as clients. She distills the complexities of neuroscience, attachment theory and the Internal Family Systems therapeutic model, then brings them all together in a brightly written guide to healing. It is smart, bravely self-revealing and sometimes hilarious. (The description of the author as a gangly, adolescent, wanna-be ballerina tripping down the stairs to illustrate how the brain works in real time is worth the cover price alone.) Jailbreak explains not only how we can break free from lifeโs traumas but how we get hurt in the first place. As a marriage and family therapist, I will be sharing this one with my clients. Review: It is a nice book covering so many aspects of psychology in a single book . I expect author to write more than one book on these topic.

Angela does a wonderful job sharing her life story so that we can see the possibility of breaking free from the difficult things in life that hold us captive. Her book is informative and even has pages where you can take your turn to reflect on things from your own life. Thatโs part of the process she shares in helping you break free.

Dr. Huebner has a distinctive gift for translating complex ideas into an immediate application for a better life. The tools she provides in Jailbreak are essential for breaking out of your own personal, self-constructed prison (I'm not good enough, not smart enough, not...) to reclaim the core of who you really are and can be.

I am learning more about the brain and IFS than I knew. It is giving me a new way to think about why I do what I do.
