No, the buds are charged in the case using usb C charging lead.

How do you know the buds are charging?

When the buds are in the Dock, they will charge automatically. Usually both buts will have a light on unless charged.

Will it fit 10 years old ears ?

I'm not sure. The rubber pieces that go in your ears, come in 3 sizes: small, medium and large. The medium ones fit my 11 year old, but she is athletic and is also 5 ft tall (154 cm). Hopefully this helps
