seems great
When I went from ss to gears I didnt factor in 29 inch wheels being geared taller so I backed up and ordered this. It seems to work well and now those monster climbs don't kick my butt. Fit my octolink no problems. Sometimes it does want to throw the chain when shifting, but I think that is because my middle ring is so much larger now compared to this.

Shimano OEM replacement
Great Shimano Quality. I replaced the rear cassette, chain and front chain wheels on my 2007 Specialized Stumpjumper, this being one of the front chain wheels. The bike works like new again, no more slipping of the chain!

Works fine, but they are steel, not aluminum.
My old chainring with matching part numbers is aluminum. This one is steel. The price probably should have been a clue. Live and learn.Despite that, it works just fine.

New ring for an old bike
I replaced the chainring on my mountain bike with this because the chain was skipping teeth on the old ring. This was a perfect replacement and all my shifting problems have gone away.
