Powerful color deposit. Prep your space appropriately for application! Lots of pro tips below…
For the last 18 months, I used regular Teal Klenditioner to maintain my professional Teal dye job. My hairstylist recommended this brand specifically. I was very happy with the results. After after a year and a half, I finally stripped out the blue and went purple. I decided to try the brunette version, as I usually mix half Colored conditioned and half Prose conditioner to maintain. I suspected the “for brunettes” version of purple was a denser dye, so I could stretch it further. (There’s no brunette version of teal.) I was right. But also, I underestimated how powerful these purple dyes are… When I used the regular teal, despite being very careful, I would occasionally find a tiny spot of blue in my bathroom. I was delighted that it wiped off my tile and granite without leaving a mark, even when I was dry dying with full strength Teal to really rejuvenate the vibrancy. Even if I found a spot the next day! (These were pinhead sized dots, and your tile/granite might be different. So still be very careful and looks for spots when cleaning up!) I would sometimes find blue spots in the acrylic tub or shower surround. But I realized it was mostly hard water spots that held the dye and a magic eraser would remove them. The regular teal would dye my hands and skin, but I could usually scrub it off in the shower. Although my hands and nails could be a bit Smurf-y for a few washes. I always used gloves when dry dyeing, including rinsing, because I used much more product and it would leave my hands blue for days. The Teal would leave sky blue streaks on white towels if you dried your hair normally. If I forgot to bring my hair towel to a hotel, I would just scrunch each section of hair with a different bit of the towel, and it wouldn’t accumulate enough to be visible. Once I switched to Purple for brunettes, the stakes got a bit higher. I did a dry dye (applying the conditioner like hair dye to dry hair and leaving 30-60 minutes for intense color deposit) in my newly renovated bathroom. I had gotten a bit complacent with my Teal. Somehow I managed to fling a small glob of purple on the wall. I went to wipe it with a bit of TP and got a smudge on the toilet. And later on the white plastic bidet. And on the porcelain tile. And another smudge on a different part of the wall. I was really a mess! I also had purple streaks across my neck, but wasn’t worried because the Teal always came off with a wet wipe once I finished applying. That was not the case with purple. Gentle exfoliation helped, but it took 2 showers to fully remove. The purple came off the tile just fine. I panicked when it didn’t come off the toilet or the bidet immediately, but a bit of Lysol with bleach saved them! It did not come off the paint, but we are going to do final touch ups later anyway. After nearly destroying my brand new bathroom, I started being much more careful. I used 1/3 color condition to 2/3 Prose and got excellent maintenance saturation. There were a few times that I found dots of diluted conditioner on the shower curtain or tile, but it came off with microfiber or magic eraser. A bit more scrubbing was needed but no cleaning products. I use vinyl gloves to apply and rinse in the shower, or my nails stay purple for days. I recommend Press N Seal to cover your workspace when dry dyeing. And a brush applicator to avoid dyeing your scalp. In the shower, I hold my hair in one hand and apply the diluted conditioner directly to the hair. This reduces spatter. This purple WILL bleed onto towels, no matter how well you rinse. I happen to have nice purple towels already, so no issue. But anything in a light color will get purple streaks. Purple fades faster than teal, but blue is notoriously permanent. So no surprise there. Overall, I don’t mind being a bit more cautious to get really vibrant color. (To clarify, my hair was bleached nearly white and then permanently dyed a deep, rich purple. But it also gives good purple coverage on the light brown root. The virgin root fades way faster than the purple lengths.)

My favorite conditioner
This is my favorite color depositing conditioner and conditioner in general. My hair is so soft and can last longer between washes when I use this conditioner. I love the color and how well it works in my brown hair. It’s so subtle yet in certain light it is very visible. I highly recommend it.

I get more compliments with this color...
I always wanted to dye my hair purple, but didn't do it. I worked in jobs where colored hair maybe wasn't considered professional enough. I also have a thing about using chemicals in my hair. I've been trying to keep it as "virgin" as possible since all of the perms in the 1990s. My friend who owns a salon is the one who first told me about the Clenditioner brand. She had me try her dark brown and pointed out it wasn't really going to dye my hair and strip it of softness. I liked the effect and then thought maybe I would try a bit of color. Purple is my favorite color, and this is a bonus that it is designed for brunettes. When I first tried it, I was a little disappointed. It felt like it took a while to actually catch onto my hair. But again, I hadn't dyed it or done anything to it in ages. I will say that it did make my hair feel super soft, though. I was also amused that it said to not use on gray or silver hair, and those were the strands that best caught the purple color. Once it started to build up, though, I really liked the effects. I got compliments on my hair from children as young as two to grandparent figures in their 80s and 90s. You can control how itense you want the color by how frequently you apply it and whether or not you use it on wet or dry hair. It does wash out fast enough that you feel like you're aren't committed to it, but not so fast that you feel like you're constantly reapplying it. It gives my hair a deep sheen and shine that I really like, I may try other colors one day, but I definitely love this purple color.

Worked great for me!
I know the intention of this product is to help keep your color in between dye jobs but NOT FOR ME! :) I have naturally curly stubborn hair. I've been dying/bleaching my hair roughly for the last 24 years. Any hair color I've tried in the past has usually always turned copper-ish no matter what (besides the bleaching, of course). The first time using the rose gold I applied it to dry hair left on for about a half an hour. The result was very slight pinkish red....like the resulting color if you left a red sock in white linens in the washer. It was pretty but not for me. For the last 2 weeks I've been applying this AMAZING PRODUCT every couple of days, to dry hair, for at least a half an hour before I shower. My hair is not only a lovely color of Merlot, but it's back to being soft and looks soooo much healthier. Plus it smells absolutely amazing. IF YOU DON'T WANT YOUR HANDS TO MATCH YOUR NEW HAIR COLOR, WEAR GLOVES. I would absolutely recommend.

Results depend on method!
I was nervous after reading reviews because I didn’t want clown red or orange, I wanted my old highlights to take on a true rose-gold, pink, or strawberry blonde tint, and a subtle warmth for my overall medium brown. Based on reviews with pictures, I decided to apply to DRY hair for 10 MINUTES ONLY, and go from there, since this product is meant to build over multiple uses. As you can see in my after pictures, I got exactly what I wanted! My old highlights are a pretty, peachy pink, and my brown hair that has copper and chocolate lowlights took the warm tint somewhat better than my virgin roots. Color did not take at all to my grays, but I wasn’t expecting it to. I plan to repeat use over my next couple washes, on wet hair, just to make sure it doesn’t fade too quickly, and maybe add a *little* more color, then alternate with the Clenditioner without color to maintain. Product does seem to clean and condition well, but after rinsing with cool water I followed up with Boldplex deep conditioner, as well as my usual Ouai hair oil, and Redken frizz spray, blew out, curled with a wand, and brushed. Very happy with results, but encourage careful thought about how to use this product depending on your hair and desired results. UPDATE: after first use, I went a couple days without shampooing (used dry shampoo in my roots once), then I applied this product (rose gold for brunettes) to dry hair again, again for about 10 minutes. Rinsed and conditioned with Ouai conditioner for fine hair. The blonde highlights seem like they have LESS color now, not more! (Car photos from today.) Which is really weird because I have not shampooed at all since first use, and have applied again! I’m still happy with the look, and totally ok with the variation in the depth of the color and how it seems like it will change constantly depending on how I’ve reused/skipped the product, shampooed/not shampooed, what products I’ve used or not, etc. Just very strange and inconsistent with other reviews that say with multiple use the color intensifies. I guess I won’t follow with the Ouai conditioner…. Apparently this is a process of trial and error. Looking forward to trying the purple after I’ve enjoyed various iterations of the rose gold. Might try mixing them first!

Not what I expected
I bought this last year and I'm just getting to it now after being red for a long time. The color goes on purple and rinses out purple but my hair looks red. I don't know if it's because I waited so long to use it. It also looked like it was fading fast even though my first application was on Saturday and I just did my second application today. I think I'll stick to the brand I usually get from now on.

Works great for brunettes
First i will preface by saying my hair was colored prior to using this. However, the purple tone did not hold. Since the regrowth i have noticed it doesn’t seen to take well to the regrowth. That said, i love this stuff. IT IS A LITTLE MESSY AND WILL TEMPORARILY STAIN YOUR SINK/TUB. And definitely stains your nails so use gloves. Nitrile work great if you have small hands because you can make them tighter by tying a knot around the wrist. As far as the time it takes…I can’t really say for sure because the first time i used it i feel like it wasn’t very purple but i also had a hard time getting a good lather on it. Like with any conditioner, you will see hair in the bottom of the sink. Don’t worry your hair isn’t falling out. This doesn’t burn or anything like that. We shed like animals ladies seasonally. As far as frequency, that depends on how much you shampoo your hair. It won’t come out if you rinse with water but as soon as you add shampoo you will see purple but it’s only a little at a time. Also, it doesn’t like heat protectant prior to straightening or curling. Could be the brand im using but it was coming out if i used it. However, it stays in if i use the protectant prior to blow drying and you gotta blow dry your hair or it will leave stuff a little stained. The results…im in love with the results. It doesn’t leave your hair looking dull when it starts to rinse out. Just changes the shade. Speaking of the shade of purple. Multiple people have told me it looks different shades of purple depending on what light you are in. Of course, i have alot of dimension to my hair naturally so it could just be mine. The shade of purple is like a deep wine or plum almost black violet but again it depends on your base color. Overall i highly recommend this. I only wish they made in between coloring products so i could wash it and still maintain the deeper hues without having to reapply so frequently. The pictures im attaching are in different lighting but taken the same day. The first one is my favorite shade and more accurate in sunlight. My hair was one shade lighter than black prior to using.

Let’s Try Purple 💜
Nothing like a splash of purple on dark hair, but of corse I was hesitant. 😳 No need to worry. 🤗 This color is subtle and stunning.😘 So ethereal and mysterious. So I started off with a medium reddish brown and I wet my hair in the shower (wear gloves for sure) carefully placed it everywhere and combed through then put my hair in a bun (with a clip) left it on for about 20 minutes, rinsed with cold water until almost clear and the results were exactly what I hoped for. I took pictures in different lighting to share how gorgeous this color is. I love how it’s like a whisper 💜 I’m sure with another application it will be more obvious, but wow so pretty! Really a beautiful shade of purple and the shine and how soft it left my hair is a bonus. Caution: it will stain your skin so use oil on your face and body is applying in the shower 💕
