GOLDEN Heavy Body Acrylics, Mars Black, 5 fl. oz. Tube, Professional Acrylic Paint, Opaque

I originally gave 4 stars. When looking back, I realized it was because I’d bought Mars Black instead of Ivory Black. Big difference in sheen and color. Golden is my preferred acrylic to use. Always check the square box that indicates its opaqueness. Acrylics are true to the adage you get what you pay for. Golden Acrylics are worth the money.

I use black acrylic paint to cover the wooden cradles on my canvases before I frame them in floaters. I was previously using some cheap Winton acrylic in Ivory black and it was so thin, it took 2 coats to cover. This paint is thick and has excellent coverage. I only needed 1 coat i’ve primed light wood and it looks perfect! Mars Black is also more opaque, which helps considerably. Not cheap but worth the investment.

Golden has good coverage and of the half dozen or so brands I've used, the unused paint seems to keep the longest in the tube (occasionally years), no separation of thin vehicle or any lumping or drying.

I always buy Golden heavy body acrylic paints. They are expensive, but you get what you pay for...especially with acrylic paints. Always the perfect consistency and the colors are heavily pigmented for fantastic coverage.

Great price. Great quality. I always buy Golden acrylics.

It is more expensive than the average acrylic paint. It will work for beginners as it is easy to apply, but maybe not a starter paint because of the cost.

Why do I buy the best. Because I want my art to look as good 10 years from now as when I finish and put my name on it.
