It's small for about 2 or 3 people!
This is a great little fryer! It doesn't take up much counter space and you won't believe how fast it heats and cooks food to perfection!! I love it! Very little spatter or cleanup after. Great price too!

Great size and cook time.
Have used several times and so far it works great. Takes about 4 minutes to heat up and cooks the fries far better than an air frier as far as I am concerned! Looks good on the counter. Does not use much oil. Easy to use with the basket that came with it.

Perfect Compact Fryer – Exactly What I Needed!
I’ve been looking for a fryer like this for a long time—something compact that doesn’t take up too much space or require a lot of oil. When I found this one, I bought it without hesitation, and I’m so happy I did! It heats up very quickly and works perfectly. I love that it doesn’t need a lot of oil to cook, which makes it more convenient and less messy. It’s exactly what I’ve been searching for for over a year. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a small, efficient fryer!

CHEFMAN 1.6 Quarts Deep Fryer - Product Review
I recently purchased the Chefman 1.6 Quarts Deep Fryer from Amazon, and overall, I am quite satisfied with its performance and features. #### Design and Build Quality The deep fryer boasts a compact and sleek design, making it a great addition to any kitchen without taking up too much counter space. Its stainless steel exterior is not only aesthetically pleasing but also easy to clean. The fryer feels sturdy and well-built, giving the impression that it will last for a good amount of time with proper care. #### Ease of Use One of the standout features of this deep fryer is its user-friendly operation. The temperature control dial is straightforward, allowing for precise adjustments up to 375°F. The indicator lights are helpful, signaling when the oil has reached the desired temperature and when the fryer is powered on. The included frying basket is a perfect size for small batches, making it ideal for personal use or small families. #### Performance The Chefman 1.6 Quarts Deep Fryer heats up quickly and maintains a consistent temperature, which is crucial for achieving perfectly fried foods. I've used it to fry chicken wings, French fries, and even doughnuts, and each time the results were impressive. The food comes out crispy and evenly cooked without being overly greasy. #### Cleanup Cleaning the fryer is relatively easy, thanks to the removable basket and oil container. Both can be washed with warm, soapy water. The non-stick coating inside the oil container also helps with quick and hassle-free cleanup. However, it's essential to handle the non-stick surface gently to avoid scratches. #### Capacity While the 1.6-quart capacity is perfect for small portions, it might be a limitation for those looking to cook for larger groups. If you frequently entertain guests or have a bigger family, you might find yourself needing to fry in multiple batches. #### Safety Features The fryer comes with a lid that helps prevent oil splatters, enhancing safety while cooking. The cool-touch handle is another thoughtful addition, reducing the risk of burns. However, I would have appreciated an auto-shutoff feature for added peace of mind. #### Overall Impression The Chefman 1.6 Quarts Deep Fryer is an excellent choice for those who need a compact, efficient, and easy-to-use deep fryer for small batches. Its performance is impressive, and the design is both stylish and practical. While the capacity might not be sufficient for larger families, it’s perfect for individuals or couples. Given its reasonable price point and overall functionality, I would definitely recommend this deep fryer to anyone in the market for a small yet capable kitchen appliance.

Not the results I wanted. Returned the item.
Overall, low profile countertop deep fryer was an appropriately sized vessel for the oil. Unit heats up quickly. Unfortunately, the thermostat is a low quality. It never did attain the high heat advertised. I'm sure it's endemic to all these small fryers but once you drop a basket of things to cook, it really pulls down the oil temperature quick and the recovery is slow. There is a recovery time required between uses to bring up the temperature. Unfortunately, this tends to lead to a more soggy result. I guess if I want the really good quality results like I did at my restaurant that I owned for 20 years, I'm gonna need to get a gas fryer. I would say this unit is best for some thin foods like battered shrimp, but even the very thin cut french fries I cooked came out limp and soggy, even though they were brown to the point of almost burning.

Honest review of someone that has had both types of deep dryers
Before buying this deep fryer, I had only ever had a deep fryer with the heat coil on the outside of the housing of the unit, that sits directly in the oil and that you slide off to empty and clean the deep dryer. I was tired of cleaning the build up around the heat coil, so decided to try this little fryer. First off, this deep fryer does heat a little slower. This is to be expected when the coil is not directly in the oil, rather in the housing at the bottom. This also means it also takes a little longer for the food to get to the desired temp. I did not find the extra time to be an issue. Secondly the heat is limited. I could only get it up to 365, and that was testing with a very expensive thermometer that I know is accurate. This can be good and bad. When using the ones with the coil directly in the oil, the temp gets much hotter faster and is more prone to burning your oil. But again, on this Chefman deep fryer, you will have to wait longer on the temp to get back up after lowering it from putting food in it. Space is a benefit of the coil being part of the housing like it is in this Chefman deep fryer. My previous deep dryer with the coil on the outside and sitting directly in the oil, which is the same Elite Gourmet listed on Amazon, holds 1.6 liters. But because the basket has to sit above the coil, you actually get less space to fry. The Chefman, with the heat coil as part of the housing, allows for full use of the 1.5 liters, giving you actually more room for food. Cleaning is the biggest reason to go with a deep fryer that has the heat coil as part of and under the housing. Cleaning the other type, with the coil outside the housing and sitting directly in the oil, is a nightmare and was usually a half day project for me. I would have to first boil water and a cleaning solution in the fryer and then take a wire brush to get all the gunk off the higher part of the coils. Really this comes down to a preference. If you prefer something that cleans easy, makes full use of the oil reservoir allowing for more food, doesn't run the risk of burning your oil, and you are okay with it taking a little more time to get to temp, this fryer is great for you. If you prefer quick fast and very high heat, and do not mind the laborious clean up, oil burning quicker, and less fryer space, then you will want to get a deep fryer with heat coil outside the housing that sits directly in the oil. After having both types, I am very happy with this Chefman deeper fryer. In the end it is just less work for someone like me that uses a deep fryer regularly.
