Door broken after only 2 months
This is probably the best air fryer I've used, and I have 4 of them. It heats up my food the best out of all of them. Maybe it's the more compact size causing it to be more efficient inside? I don't know, but whatever it is, it crisps up my food in the totally right way. The size is great too, very nice and compact, and looks attractive. Here's why the low scores (NOTE: Originally this was a 1 star review): 1. The basket. The metal weave is brutal on your fingers, I've cut myself more than once on the very wiry basket. 2. The door. IT'S BROKEN. When the door closes, it pushes in a little pin, which causes the oven to turn on. Well, randomly, as its cooking, the door opens just a touch, causing the pin to pop out a bit, turning the oven off. I have to shove a trivet at the door to keep it closed (see photo). This is NOT GOOD. And no, nothing "happened" to it, I didn't bump it, drop it, slam it, or anything else to make this happen. Very frustrating. I've only been using this oven for 2 months, and the door has now not worked for 2 weeks. So, of course, I've already thrown out the box, I'm out of the return window.... really not happy with it ESPECIALLY because it cooks really well. UPDATE: Upon reading some other reviews, I called the Cuisinart helpline and, yeah, they have sent me a replacement oven. They REALLY stand by their products, I love that! They very reasonably asked me to make my current oven non-operant and to send them evidence of that, and once I did so, they immediately processed a new shipment. So now I'll have to go try my new one. Thanks, Cuisinart! I changed this review to 5 stars for now. I will retry the new oven and see how it goes.

Best Purchase I've Ever Made
This is one of the best purchases I've ever made. I use this multiple times a day via a variety of settings. I love how compact it is, and how well it works. I cannot think of a single negative aspect. It's runs quietly, heat levels are accurate and, and although a little loud, the toaster "ding" is great.

Nice little machine
Love the size, efficiency and look of this machine. Bought on Aug 22, 2025. Yesterday the door stopped closing fully so now it doesn’t work. I’m past the return window and will have to call cuisinart to work something out.

TOA-26 vs. TOA-70
I ordered this compact Cuisinart as well as the larger model (TOA-70). Comparing with the larger model, the compact one: - Doesn’t have the grill feature - Doesn’t have a built-in timer for any of the features except for toasting - Doesn’t have an interior light - Isn’t stainless steel on the sides and top; it only is on the front However, I absolutely love it and went with the compact one. Here’s why: - Despite being “compact”, it has plenty of room inside. More room than my barrel-style air fryer! - It air fries as well as my barrel air fryer, which I’ll be selling soon because I’m trying to get away from cooking with nonstick and this is all stainless steel inside. - It also toasts as well and as quickly as the toaster oven I’ve had for 10 years. Some reviews stated this takes a long time to toast but they may be comparing it with a regular toaster, not a toaster oven. I haven’t used the other features yet as I mainly needed these two. - The main reason I really like this one over the larger model is because you can almost fully pull out the rack you’re cooking on without it falling down. The larger model was annoying with that because pulling the rack about halfway out meant it would fall. You would need to remove the rack entirely in order to flip food over or to take it out when it was done. - No timer: I don’t care about that because I just set a timer on the microwave like I’d do if I were baking something in the oven (this is technically a countertop oven after all). Many reviewers are upset there’s no auto-off for anything except the toasting, but ovens don’t turn off on their own. When the timer goes off I check on the food and turn the dial to off. Not a problem at all. - No light: At first I thought I’d miss the interior light, but my barrel air fryer doesn’t have one either, I just open the door and look in. Haven’t missed it. I am really disappointed that, unlike the larger model, the compact one doesn’t have stainless steel sides and top. It makes it look cheaper than the other one. A work around: I put it in the corner of my counter so you can’t see the sides as much. Despite this being an important miss to me, I love this toaster oven/ air fryer enough to overlook that.

Small footprint, but it stumbles on performance
Best feature is the small footprint but performance has much to be desired. The air fry and baking settings are very good and work as expected. But this unit is missing all of the niceties of a modern appliance. There is no cook timer, so you will have have to use a separate timer. In today's world that is really uncompetitive for kitchen products. The basket is nice, but kind of roughly put together with sharp edges. That makes it hard to clean. There is no automatic extension of the grate when you open the door. If the inside does not extend for you to get the food, you need something to pull out the grate manuaully that is very hot. You cannot use your fingers or you will get burned. They could have included at least a separate handle to pull out the grate. In my opinion, not very consumer friendly and just a cost cutting move. Perhaps the biggest drawback is the toaster function. Toasting takes forever. It's almost worthless as a toaster as it takes much, much longer to toast than a regular toaster. Yes, you can also turn on the air fryer function, but it is not even on both sides. The toast is a fail basically. I have to use a separate toaster, so the small foorprint to save counter space is defeated. If you want a small air fryer and oven, this unit is serviceable with a small footprint. If you want other features, then this product is spartan and basic. I think cuisinart missed the mark on this product, but then again, it's built for a low price perhaps to ease you to the more expensive models that do have to features lacking in this model. I still use the product, but would really like to replace it to have the features missing that I never thought I would miss. My bad not to carefully consider all features, so hopefully, this review helps others with an informed decision.

A Perfect Appliance
I am still experimenting with my new air fryer/ toaster oven. So far, it has been great. Everything I have made has turned out great. I make little pizzas on English muffins. Those turned out great. The oven is easy to use and maintain.

I highly recommend it
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. I use this mainly for toast, making some air fry potato wedges, reheating pizza sometimes The size is perfect, and it heats up evenly. I have a regular huge oven at home, but this is perfect for when I need to toast up something quickly without heating up the whole oven. The only downside is it does not have a timer, but it does not affect the functionality

Door Quirk Affects Turning On
This Cuisinart came from the Amazon warehouse as a Used-Like New item for $72. It was in its original packaging and all the pans were still in their plastic wrapping. There were no finger prints. When I first turned it on, it appeared to be DOA and didn’t turn on. I was ready to return it. Then I remembered some reviews said it wouldn’t turn on if the door wasn’t properly closed. This turned out to be the case. There is a button inside the door on the right side that needs to be fully pushed in for the oven to turn on. The door appears to be too lightweight to fully engage that button. I found that, by pushing on the door in that corner, it engages the button and the air fryer turns on. I did not have to push anything against the door to hold it in place. This quirk is why it gets 4 stars. There were a couple of reviews that stated the air fryer is loud. That’s not the case for mine. It’s very quiet. I’ve only heated baguettes and cooked frozen pizza, so far. The baguettes got crispy within a few minutes (on Bake 350°) and the pizza cooked in a little less than the time stated on the box. At some point, I may use it for cooking food and I believe it will handle that, well.
