Does work with arcade 1up but you need to figure out the wire hardness its doable where this joystick comes with a 5 pin connector that white with patterns on it instead of colorful also all you need is 1 ground wire for my pacman 1up this is exactly how I got it to work Red - up - has writing on wire Green - down - long rectangles Black - right - xxxxx Yellow- left- small rectangles Any color ground - dots This setup worked perfectly i desided to put 2 ground wires instead of just 1 so I could tell them apart Also with my pacman 1up the 1st wire is the positive (top) the 2nd same wire color is ground (bottom) and this is all 4 colors of wire I hope this helps bc i couldn't find any info online how to exactly wire this stick up

I realize these are knock offs, but the restrictor on my sticks reads "Sanwa" The cable that comes with them needed to be cut/spliced in my setup and the copper is VERY thin. For that reason, they might not be the simplest installation, but the rest of the components seem decent enough. If the switches ever fail, this will hold a replacement Sanwa board just fine.

So far this is great. However I am using a custom qanba Playstation arcade stick, and I had to mod this joy stick to get it to work. I had to desolder the ribbon connector on the joystick and flip it around, then the inputs worked. See photo.

Installed item on machine and it still didn’t work so due to the complexity to installation, I was not able to remove it to send it back so we sold the machine for parts and took a huge loss.

Mounting holes do not match. Wire harnesses won’t work either, unless you Jerry-rig and then solder.

Just plug and play. Works like a champ, very responsive, no complaints.

Simple mechanism, seems to work exactly as it needs to! That being said, I have no idea how this is supposed to switch to an 8 way gate; looking at the plastic piece underneath, it is a square gate with nothing reconfigurable that I can see. It's fairly tight, but then again I've never had a fight stick before. I would not suggest this for someone looking to build a competitive controller, but it will work brilliantly for casual use. Comes with the 5 pin wire for use with those cheap usb fightstick boards!
