Quality Products From Petra
GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM PETRA. THEY STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT AND WANT THE CUSTOMER TO BE SATISFIED. The dye works really well and the glue does work okay. The dye is MUCH longer lasting than what comes on dyed mulch at the big box stores. I usually buy the black Stagreen mulch from Lowes. It usually fades really quickly after putting it down. The Petra glue is good but it would take me probably 15 gallons of product to really lock all of my mulch beds down. It would take coating then flipping the mulch and recoating as it says to do. That’s a lot of work but I understand it needs to be flipped to get coverage on everything not just the top of the mulch pieces. I mainly wanted it so when I blow maple tree helicopter seeds off of my mulch beds it won’t also blow mulch into my yard which is always an issue I have. With a back pack leaf blower it still blows the mulch around but again I did not coat, flip the mulch around, and then recoat for maximum lock in. I appreciate the dye more so than the glue for my uses and the dye will be something I will continue to buy in the future. I do recommend the rock glue though. I have much smaller areas of river rock around a fire pit and pea gravel around a raised garden bed. The rock glue worked really well to lock those areas down but since they are smaller areas I had enough product to do them properly.

Shipping Package caused damages/Update Included
Shipping Issue: My product arrived today in a brown shipping bag that had clearly been smashed because the black die exploded inside of my package leaking all over the label and stained the area when I opened this bag. I couldn’t even read the instructions on the label because so much product leaked from the container. I’m reaching out to Customer Service now for replacement. Please do not ship liquid items in bags. Update: a replacement was promptly sent to me, which I greatly appreciate. The instructions were clear the product applied beautifully and the results were incredible. I highly recommend using this mulch die to refresh. I have rubber mulch and plan to replenish next year. Be very careful when applying at the foundation of the home and near sidewalks go slow slowly and not let it spray at full force. I accidentally sprayed some too strongly and got some on the siding but I used a little drop of dawn, dish detergent, and the water hose cut it off immediately. This stuff is great!! Go ahead and order it.

Mulch looks absolutely fabulous, but a sprayer explosion dyed me black
Let's start with the product itself: when this dye is going on, oh my goodness, does it work. It goes on incredibly smoothly, coats the old mulch perfectly, and completely transforms the yard. While I was putting it out, I was literally thinking to myself, "Who would ever buy new mulch again? I am doing this from now on." It is fast, convenient, and the end result looks incredibly sharp and rich. My garden looks mostly fabulous now (minus a few spots I missed, which I am absolutely not going back for anytime soon!). However, a massive safety warning for anyone using a pump sprayer to apply this: To be totally clear, this dye does not come with a sprayer; you have to supply your own. The absolute disaster that happened next was entirely a sprayer malfunction, not a fault of the dye—but because of what I was spraying, the results were dramatic. It was a hot day, so I decided to take a mid-project break. When I came back out to finish up and pressurized my sprayer again, the tank/nozzle literally exploded directly into my face. I was instantly dyed jet-black from my eyebrows down to my neckline, and from my fingertips all the way up to my elbows. It also got right into my eyes. Visually, it was horrifying—I genuinely thought I wouldn't be able to leave the house for a week. Thankfully, after an hour of intense scrubbing, it did come off my skin. My eyes, however, were red, swollen, and painful for a few days after. Am I saying don't buy this dye? Honestly, no! The aesthetic results are so good that I might actually try using it again in the future. The product itself is fantastic. But please learn from my horror story: wear safety goggles, long sleeves, and be extremely careful with your sprayer pressure—especially if it’s been sitting out in the heat!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I hate seeing the mulch fade late in the summer or early fall. This was super easy to apply, just put the recommended amount in my pump sprayer and the mulch looks brand new. I will say it is key to test your sprayer and spray pattern in an area free of plants or concrete because it will die those areas. I got a little on my concrete sidewalk but it faded quickly. Now I just spray some on and save all that money on mulch!
