41A5034 Safety Sensor Eyes Only, Compatible with Craftsman Liftmaster Sears Chamberlain Garage Door Openers After 1997, Garage Door Sensor Replacement Kit

These worked out- I was gambling since the liftmaster was from Aug 1997, and the instruction manual parts indicated 41A4373A for the safety sensor kit, There was no reference in the item description for that part number, and I just wanted people in the same situation to know that they can save the $20+ by getting these over the item that is described as a direct 41A4373A replacement. You do need to switch the wires' coding during connection as everyone else noted, and the brackets we had were on the same side as the LED, which blocked it a bit, but you can still marginally see the light status. As for the push and pray wire connectors, you do need a strong finger push or better yet a pair of pliers to get the connector landed all the way home on the wires, or they will pull out. Use the tips of your strippers to get that orange button seated into the clear body all the way. Good stuff to save my 25 +yr old opener on an 18X7 heavy door. Problem was repeated failure to close especially on cold mornings. door would cycle rapidly at various points of travel and return to open, blinking light, to indicate safety sensor circuit issues. 41A4373A only had 1 green LED on each side that would do nothing to indicate activation, this set has an effective indicator so that you can align the beam/receivers.

Very good. The led of the sensor are very bright, that make the installation very easy to configure.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I’m a professional garage door repair tech and I am very disappointed with this product and seller. I got these to help a friend out off the clock in an attempt to save them money and that back fired. These are not OEM LiftMaster sensors even though they advertise the full part number in the discussion (deceptive sales tactics). The hardware that came with the sensors were not threaded so they couldn’t be used. Luckily I had extras from work. After splicing the wires black to black and white to white none of the sensors worked on either of the 2 doors. I then revered the splices to make sure a polarity mistake didn’t happen from the factory, this also didn’t work. I then plugged the sensors directly into both motor terminals to rule out logic board and the wiring to the opener being a possible issue. Nothing worked. So we went to Home Depot and bought the Chamberlain sensors and they worked on first install, came with useable hardware, and were legit OEM as advertised. If only one set didn’t work I’d say it’s a fluke but both is just a bad product and waste of time attempting multiple ways to make them work. This job should have been 15-20 min but took almost 2 hours with the Home Depot trip factored in. Hopefully this review saves you from wasting your time.

Easy too hook up

They work and they're cheap. Unfortunately for me the LED faces the wrong way when mounted on my existing brackets, so they were of no help. Also, when hooking black to black and white to white wire, they did not work. I had to swap the poliarity and then they worked fine. The opener is a post 1997 liftmaster, who also made many of the craftsman units as well.

I was looking for just a single set of safety sensor beams, but had to purchase a double pack. For some reason the supplier of these was out of single (2 sensor) packs but had this double (2 pack) kit available and since I needed something relatively quick I went ahead and ordered it. In typical fashion my order came quickly but to my amazement there were 2 individual boxes inside which meant they could sell individual sets. Not cool making you buy more. I'm sure when I need the second set I will likely have misplaced it or it will have deteriorated as much stuff from overseas does. Second issue was the water tight crimp connectors (there were 5 when only 4 were needed so slight bump up from 2 stars given for thought) did not crimp correctly so wires did not connect....I don't use those type connectors so not a big deal, but when you do use them as I did because they came with it they should work. i ended up using wires nuts then putting electrical tape over to provide somewhat of weather proofing. Third issue and most frustrating issue is the white / white with black wiring from each sensor is reversed - meaning you don't hook up white to white and white/black to white/black which almost caused these to be sent back or exchanged, but I continued to check things (and fortunately did not replace wiring from opener to sensor as some had suggested) and found that when I reversed the 2 wires the sensors powered up. This is not USA electrical to Asia electrical differences - its just poor manufacturing. You'd think as much as has been sold here in the USA they'd have figured things out by now. I truly am looking forward to buying much more from the USA and hopefully it is handled like it is through Amazon - the quick shipping and easy return is very nice.

I just installed my new garage door sensors, and they work great. One sensor is in direct sunlight in the morning and there was no issue there. Installation was pretty easy. Two things you need to know. First, wire them backwards as all the other reviews have stated. I have no idea why, but that's how it works. Second, get a couple of small wire nuts because the connectors supplied aren't great. You can use them, but you'll thank me later if you use wire nuts. One more thing to keep in mind is that they work for garage door openers built 1997 to present. I bought the double set of sensors and 2 and of course one my openers was manufactured in 1993 so it didn't work, but that's 100% on me. So I have an extra set if anyone wants it LOL. I like the brackets that are included because they clip right onto the tracks. No need to screw/bolt into the wall like the old ones. Most of the sensors sold on Amazon don't include the brackets. Well worth it.
