Klein Tools 86225 Tape Measure, 25-Foot Double Hook Magnetic with Finger Brake, Easy to Read Bold Lines

My handyman husband has managed to wear out all of his tape measures in the last few months (all many, many years old) and we are in the process of trying to find suitable replacements. A few initial impressions on the Klein Tools Double Hook Magnetic Tape Measure: Fits the hand well Large numbers are very easy to see Tested the advertised 9'6" stand out and it easily passed Very smooth extraction and retraction - using the "break" works well to slow it down The lock holds tight, but the switch is pretty loose when not locked - not sure what that might mean for the future Never had one with the double hook, but very excited to put it to use, along with the fairly strong magnet. Over all, this tape measure has a very good first impression, much better than one of a different brand that he received as a gift last month. It will be put to the test in the next few weeks - anticipating it will live up to expectations!

The tape measure works great. I've dropped it a few times and it holds up well. Very durable product. The belt clip is great, springs back to where it should be and does not stay bent out as some do. There are two ways to stop the tape measure from automatically recoiling, one is the standard brake which works well. The other is the speed brake which is under the tape measure and is easy to get to when using it and needing to brake the tape measure briefly. Best part of the tape measure is the magnet at the end. Works great! There is a "conduit bending multiplier" on the underside of the tape measure (there are measurement markings on both sides of the tape which is awesome!). I'm not sure how the conduit bending multiplier works but I assume it tells you what your measurement is if you bend the tape measure on an angle. Probably useful for a full time contractor.

This is my second Klein tape measure. I really like the ability to lock the tape momentarily by squeezing the button on the bottom. I like the magnet for picking things up like screws you drop from a ladder, but it also picks up metal shavings and gets gummed up with them. The markings on the tape start to get rubbed off after a few months and are on the thicker side (less precise). The conduit bending multipliers are nice. And the tape starts to get twisted at the front. I think I’m gonna get a fat max next. This is a good tape measure but not the best.

This tape measure is great. It has great big numbers that are very easy to read. The nylon coating on the tape itself is a bit of a matte color which should help with glare in bright light situations such as when one is wearing a headlamp and trying to read it. There is a squeeze stop on the bottom for holding the tape out temporarily with one hand while not actually having to engage the lock. I like the fact that there are also numbers on the bottom of the tape to make it a handy two-sided affair. Although I don't bend much conduit, having the handy chart on the back of the tape could come in handy at some point. The clip seems plenty sturdy and the bright orange color should make it harder to lose on a jobsite.

I must admit I’m partial to Klein tools in general. However, I have used 10-15 different types in my lifetime (like Stanley FatMax, Komelon Gripper Speed-Mark, etc.) and found this one to be: high quality, strong spring, easy to read, very useful measurement imprint on both sides, locking mechanism is by far the best quality (easy to engage/disengage, excellent to have “hooks” on both sides of tape, color makes it easy to find and love the pressure button on the bottom to hold tape in place before locking. Most importantly, The button also allows you to slow down the tape as it reels back. I mean, REALLY, I like to find someone who has a better tape measure.

I was only using smaller tape measures and my father while doing a project with me recommend I get a 25 footer so that it didn't bend in after 5 feet. After getting this I am excited to have a nice sturdy tape measure. I've used this on about 5 projects already and am kind of surprised I didn't get one before. While it is a little bit more expensive then some of the other ones, it seems like it will last, and it has a few of the extras, like magnetic end clip, and a hold button.

I bought two Klein Tools tape measures Item # 86225 , 25 foot double hook magnetic in less than a year and I had the same problem with both of them , both broke from the same place ,for the short time that I use them , I liked everything about this tape measures but the problem is they don't last long

My husband is picky about his tape measures. Only uses a particular brand (Stanley Fat Max); that being said, he really liked this one! It has a lock like most, but also has a break which is convenient and works great as you're allowing the tape back in. It's durable and I'm sure will be long lasting. The numbers are large and easy to read. It's a great tape measure and I'm happy with this purchase!

Fantastic tape! A bit bulky but very sturdy.... It's made for serious construction guys

Nice and bulky tape measure. Only problem is the actually tape itself isn’t as durable as other Klein products, gets cut and damaged relatively easily.

Love the large numbers and bold lines for 8ths. Makes for quick easy measurements.
