Impressive Robotic Vacuum
Have had this close to a year and still working very well. I use it in my downstairs rec room running every 3 weeks for a deep clean of the space. I have 2 cats so it has been great on picking up pet hair and litterbox scatters. I've only had to perform thorough maintenance on clogged rollers once and it was easy.

Shark robot vacuum
After 3 other brand robots. I decided to go with the Shark for the easy to empty debris bucket, no vacuum bags required. The robot is easy to program, the settings for "no go zones" work well. The Shark cleans very well; I am surprised how much cat hair and dirt get picked up. The Shark is quieter than the competitor. The mapping feature in the app is user friendly, displaying a good representation of the floor space. I've had this for a month and am pleased with the vacuum performance. This model is a great buy, good performance medium cost. Recommend!

This is a low quality shark!
This is a low quality shark! I already have a 2-in-1 and love it. The suctioning power is fantastic and it can clean perfectly any carpet - mine is a deep pile carpet, so I needed a good vacuum cleaner. As I have two different floors, decided saving buying this version as I thought the quality would be the sameโฆ. It was only an illusion! In the first run I noticed that the attachment of the side brush was cheap and weird, making a terrible noise. After the first run the side brush was completely wasted and looked like it was used more than 100 times already. I decided to do a new test on the second day. I programmed it to run while I was at work. When I returned, the robot was without the front wheel (how in the world did it happen?) and stuck somewhere in the house. I gave up and decided to return it! Now I am buying another 2-in-1 even if I am not using the mop :) it is only $70 more - I know $70 is a lot off money, but how much your time worth as I had to wrap it back, take it to UPS and wait to get refundedโฆ. Think twice before buying it. It is rubbish!

Overall happy with this upgrade
I've had my vacuum for a month and I'm really enjoying it. I had a Roborock 6S for four years before switching. I have LVT flooring, a thin run, a thick rug and a carpet area that all gets vacuumed. Hair: I have a German shepherd husky mix and I have long hair so it was going to be put to the test concerning hair. The first 2 times I ran it the roller got clogged by hair clumps. But it was really easy to remove, no scissors involved. Then once I was running it daily (on normal mode) it hasn't had a problem since. I am proactive and clear the roller brush once a week. But honestly not much gets stuck running it daily. I do have to empty the tank more often because there is so much hair. It also picks up the random pieces of dog food my dog puts on the floor and doesn't eat. Noise: I love that it empties itself so it isn't something I'm checking every single day. But it is SO loud when it empties. During the week this is no issue because we are at work but it took a bit on the weekends to not get startled when it happened. Otherwise the noise is very manageable. The eco mode we don't even change the volume on the tv. Normal mode we have to turn the volume up a few numbers. I've one used max once just to test it. Navigating around the apartment: It has not thrown itself off my stairs thankfully. Cords are an issue but that is a problem with any robot vacuum. Once you, burry them under the couch, or pin them to the wall it isn't an issue. I've noticed it will go over some things, like my Theragun charger. But at the same time if a door is not fully open it won't run into or push the door open. So it doesn't get all the floor every day but that is why we do it daily. It can do our entire apartment (800 sqft) on one charge. But if you have a bigger area it will clean, charge and then resume cleaning in a bit. Using the app: Take the time to make the rooms on your map so it is more useful. It might take some tweaking. Also if you have an odd shape room (not a rectangle) you can combine two areas into one. You can also add no go zones. I did that around my Peloton bike because there was no good way to tuck the cord in somewhere. You can easily make a schedule for specific days of the week. Currently you cannot schedule by rooms. Also you cannot schedule it to clean multiple time per day, you would have to manually start it the second time. Other notes: I feel like this helps with the dust so much. It also helps me not leave things on the floor, like an amazon box I need to break down. Because if there is stuff on the floor then the vacuum can't clean there. Any robot vacuum would be hard if you have a kid that leaves things everywhere or a dog with a lot of toys. Overall I'm really happy with the switch to Shark.

Better than the Roomba s9+ that I tried
I had 2 robot vacuums. An Ecovacs Deebot N79S, and a Roomba 694. When the Deebot quit on me after 2 years, I decided to upgrade to a model with mapping technology. I decided on this model due to it's relative low cost with automatic emptying and good back and forth vacuuming method. The first thing I noticed is that it's quieter than both of my older vacuums, although this may be due to using the default MEDIUM suction setting. MEDIUM has worked so far so I have not changed it from that. It is also VERY thorough in cleaning. First it cleans along the perimeter of the room then changes to the interior. Once one room is done, it moves to the next. You will have to do an initial mapping of your desired cleaning area first so it knows where all the furniture, walls, and stairs are. After that initial mapping you can set 'no-go' zones. Most setup and interaction with the vacuum is done though a smartphone app, although there are very basic buttons i.e. on/off/return to dock on the vacuum itself. This vacuum uses LiDAR location technology so it does a real good job of vacuuming everywhere but you will have to pick up small objects off the floor because it will not see them. I had to put bumpers near the pet bowls because it was pushing them around and spilling them. You can set up 'no-go' zones in the app but I have not been able to get them to work properly yet. Hopefully Shark will put out a firmware update that will fix this. The auto-emptying dock is a lot quieter than the Roomba S9+ dock that I tried. The S9+ dock was as loud as a shop vac, if you've ever heard one of those. The S9+ also pushed around most of the small carpets I had at the entrances from outside. This vacuum does not. Unfortunately, you will have to clean the HEPA filter on the vacuum itself every 2-3 cleanings. It clogs up quickly and being NON-REPLACEABLE, it's a pain to have to clean.

Like having a toddler help clean...needs a lot of input, correction, and supervision.
Now that we've had this for 6 months I assess we can give a fair review. We were completely new to robot vacuums before purchasing the Shark Matrix Plus. We did a lot of comparative shopping before settling on this model. One key component was dealing with pet hair , as we have two German Shepherds, and this model claimed to do well with that. Honestly, we picked this over the Roomba S9+ based on the price difference at the time and the roughly equivalent reviews. We also had a relative who had a Shark (different model) and liked it. Unfortunately, this experience has turned out to be a bit of a disappointment. We have the Matrix setup on the ground floor so no steps to deal with. pretty typical mix of hardwood, tile, and carpeted rooms. House is not roomy, but not cluttered either. Pros: - It does clean adequately and the different suction settings are nice to have (we typically use full power). - The initial search of the house function is OK, but rudimentary. If you reconfigure, you can modify one part, you have to have it do a complete survey again. - it is fairly good at dealing with temporal changes, such as shoes or a dog's ball being on the floor. Doesn't mind doors being shut to some rooms. - it will return and recharge, then finish the job, as necessary. It will also empty itself as necessary. - it is good at finding it's dock. -App is reliable at notifying you of status and alerts. Cons: - App is simplistic and sometimes buggy. Could really only setup one "no go" zone and it would glitch every time I tried to setup another. - App doesn't keep a real world location on your robot so if it has a problem, you'll have to hunt for it. - Robot brushroll regularly gets stuck. Dog hair, small piece of something, etc. Requires your attention and dirtying your hands to fix. - Robot emptying regularly fails to complete - something gets stuck in the robot exit door. Requires your attention and dirtying your hands to fix. - side brush occasionally catches something and it gets stuck. But that, I suppose, is our fault for failing to "robot proof" the house. - robot gets stuck occasionally. Under tables, in the bathroom (will jam itself under the lip of the counter), interacting with throw carpets. The bottom line, it has enough issues getting stuck, failing to empty it's bin, brushroll getting stuck, that we had to turnoff the automatic cleaning feature (we envisioned it vacuuming once a day while we were at work but it regularly needed attention to finish so we turned off that function and only use it on command when we can help or rescue it, and typically have to rescue it once a day...typically due to a stuck brushroll). And isn't that the point of the robot? To be as "fire and forget" as possible? Maybe we just are too far different in our house layout, carpets, pets, etc from the "design customer" that this is all it can do. But no one lives in a perfectly pristine test environment, clearing all possible hazards for the robot. And we shouldn't be expected to have to do that for the machine to do it's job. Sadly, we are likely going to sell or give this one away soon and try another company's robot. Maybe the roomba is really worth the extra money...and for the record, we do really like our traditional shark vacuum.

Easy set up, and easier app functionality
I purchased this after dealing with Roomba issues for almost 2 years, and this Shark vac has made all of the difference. It actually finds it's docking station every single time, even when I've stacked boxes around it. It follows the mapping very well, and if it happens to end up on the carpet, it still performs very well! The app is easy to navigate for last second changes. I have an Australian Shepherd that sheds like crazy, and brings grass into the house. I picks it up without issues, the 45 day capacity is an extra bonus meaning I don't have to empty it almost everyday. I will warn you though, the self cleaning is very loud for a few seconds (If you have sleeping babies in the area, I would schedule the end time outside of naptime.)
