Collapsible Silicone Microwave Hot Air Popcorn Popper Bowl With Lid and Handles - Red

I love popcorn, especially the type you buy at the movie theater. Years ago I purchased a commercial popcorn machine that is great fo pop large batches of popcorn, but occasionally I just want a single serving batch. Microwave packaged popcorn just doesn't match the movie theater stuff. I bought this microwave popper to see if I can make movie theater popcorn in the microwave. The popper arrives nicely packaged in a box that will also serve nicely for storage. The silicone popper collapses easily but also opens to hold a decent amount of popcorn. There is a brief instruction sheet that shows you how to use it. For my experiment I put about a tablespoon of coconut oil on top of 1/4 cup of Paragon popcorn kernels in the bottom of the popper. I sprinkled some Flavacol popcorn salt on top and popped it in my microwave using the popcorn setting. Once I heard the popping stop I removed it from the microwave. The Bowl was about 2/3 full of popcorn. The popped corn was fluffy and tasted just like the stuff from the theater. There were some unpopped kernels, about twice the amount I usually get with microwave packaged popcorn, so I may need to experiment with the microwave time slightly. But, overall, this was a very satisfying bowl of microwave popcorn that tasted just like the stuff from the movie theater. After eating the popcorn, everything cleaned up easily with dish soap, although it is also dishwasher safe. For someone looking for an easy and inexpensive way to make small batches of microwave popcorn, with or without oil, this is a great way to do it. It works so well that I will like likely buy some of these to send as gifts for Christmas.

I really like this bowl. It’s convenient, stores easily and pops delicious popcorn! I do find that it requires more time in the microwave than the directions suggest but I imagine time varies with each microwave. It’s easy to clean also and pops delicious popcorn weather you choose to use oil or not

I have been popping popcorn in a Stir-Crazy Air Popper for years, and I really love it, but as simple to use as that is, I just saw so many videos about popping in the microwave that I wanted to try one in this style. You can pay a lot more for one like this than this one, but I can't imagine what they would do better. The process is so dang simple, there is basically no obstacle to making a bowl of popcorn. I keep it in it's box stacked up with the cereals, and it's almost as easy to make as a bowl of cereal. Drop a 1/4 cup of kernels in there, lid it up, and microwave for 2 minutes. Perfect. Just perfect. Not a lot of dead kernels, and clean up is a breeze. I DON'T add toppings into the silicone bowl, I transfer it to a bigger bowl, so the silicone one only ever touches popcorn. I don't want to get oil and salt in it. I add one of the premade popcorn oils they sell on Amazon, and super fine salt, like popcorn or pickling salt. (I make my own by just grinding salt in my spice grinder.) That takes no time and is delicious. If you want to kick it up a notch, use real melted butter or ghee, and maybe some flavoring, like Hoosier Farms powders. For a slightly better result, soak your kernels in water for 10 minutes, and increase the cooking time to 3 minutes, (though obviously, every microwave is different.) You'll get fewer dead kernels and a bit fluffier popped ones. I'm really pleased with this purchase!

First time trying one of these silicone microwave popcorn makers and I'm liking it so far. a 1/4 cup of seeds will fill the entire bowl which is eough for 2 people. I use a little oil which is not necessary but it helps all seeds pop and adds to the flavor. The lid stays at the bottom and rises as the seeds pop and fill the bowl. The lid is a bit flimsy and wish it were a bit stonger as it tends to not encircle the interior of the bowl as I was expecting but I haven't had any kernals pop outside of the bowl, so I guess it's doing a fair job. Lastly, the bowl and lid are extremely easy to clean by had but can be put in the dishwasher. I find myself popping more corn than I usually would have otherwise and the taste is fantastic.

Easy to use, better than hot air popper, or conventional stove top. Easy to clean. You control what you want in your popcorn. Great buy.

I changed my rating from 5 stars to 3, because no matter how much I washed it, I couldn't get it clean. It always felt sticky and grimy. It didn't matter if it had just come out of the dishwasher, it felt dirty. The ease of use and storage were fantastic, but this inability to get it clean trumped everything else.

I've bought several of these for gifts after o bought myself one! No oil needed, pops kernels great! We use it every other night!

Génial pour faire du pop corn au microonde tant qu'on respecte les quantités et le temps, ne crame pas et quasiment tous les grains sont éclatés. On ne se brule pas. (Bien plus efficace qu'un simple bol au micro-ondes...) Mais si on ne suit pas parfaitement les consignes le pop corn peut cramer et laisser des traces marrons sur le plastique qui ne partent pas, dommage.

Un producto muy recomendado para los amantes del cine en casa. Había probado varias formas de hacer palomitas (tapers, taros de cristal, etc) y esta es la que mas me ha gustado.
