Space and size
This is a great recipe box. My smaller one was full and not able to hold my recipes anymore.

Perfect for keeping my recipes safe.
I bought this box the first time over a year ago in staples (for $9.99). I am something of a chef and I've always got recipes floating around as I tend to scribble things down as I create new dishes and I needed somewhere neat, tidy, durable to keep all my little leaflets and this fit the bill. I love that it locks to keep prying hands out of it when I am not looking. It's not a heavy duty padlock mind you but it's enough of a lock old Grandmothers can't get into it or small children and if anyone with good strength tries to open it while I am home it's enough of a lock I'll hear them attempting the B&E before they get it open haha. I love it's a very solid black with metal trim/detailing. It's a great height for me as the little cue cards I use to write recipes down come is all sizes. I used to store this little box right in my kitchen on my 'coffee' shelf without problems. It's not huge it's literally the perfect size to store anywhere without feeling like you are 'tripping' on it. I lost my original box during Hurrican sandy so I've recently re-purchased this. I am not too hot for the price I had to pay for it on amazon (15 bucks as opposed to the 9.99 I originally paid) but what's a gal to do? I wanted the exact same box and I will purchase more in the future for other uses I just adore this box. Pro: -Strong and durable -Easy on the eyes -Lots of space for recipes -Has a lock to secure your items (it's not a padlock though) -Nice metal trim -It's tall to accommodate my tallest cue-cards and any other paper I hace in there -Long enough to slip a pen in there with my recipes Con : Did NOT like paying 15 bucks for it!!! As I said I love this little lock box and will buy more in the future, it fits all my various needs without taking up tons of space. More space and less clutter in my home makes me a VERY happy camper.

Vaultz Lockable Index Card Holder works
There is not much to say about a Lockable Index Card Holder. The box is generally as described and appears to be of reasonable quality. I have not found anything that would justify a negative review. The lock and key are not usefully for anything more than keeping the lid from flying open, but that should be obvious and doesn't effect my opinion of the product. Holds 4x6 index cards without issue.

Great storage box, sturdy and durable.
Great storage box for my 5x8 index cards and other items. They fit perfectly. The only thing that would earn a 5-Star rating would be if there was a handle on the top of the box. It would make it easier to carry from location to location.

Very professional looking and lockable...
This index card box is great! It is sturdy and holds a lot of index cards. I am a professional dog walker / pet sitter / groomer / doggie day care owner. I use index cards when I am out trimming nails because I offer a deal where your 5th trim is free. I keep track of clients info and trims on index cards and file them in this handy, professional looking index card box. I have look at several other index card boxes and found this one to be the most professional looking. I wasn't sure how to quality would be when I ordered it, but when I received it, I was impressed. It was packaged nicely and arrived in perfect condition. This box would be good for filing many things like recipes, receipts, client / customer information, etc. It is sturdy and I also like the fact that it is lockable. Being personal information for my clients, I never leave it unattended when I have it with me in public, but it serves as extra security to have it locked with not in use also. If you are looking for an index card filing box, this one is perfect for you! The one I ordered was for the larger size index cards, but they do have them for the smaller ones. I have used this index card box many times since I purchased it, and it still looks brand new. I really highly recommend this one.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Simple, Genius Way to Be Present on Date Night
I started using the Vaultz Lockable Index Card Holder as a cell phone lock-up box for date nights, and honestly—it’s been a game changer. Instead of phones sitting face-down on the table “just in case,” we lock them away at the start of the night. The Vaultz holder is the perfect size for phones, sturdy metal construction, and the key lock makes it intentional—once it’s locked, it’s locked. No temptation, no quick checks, no distractions. What I love most is how simple it makes being present. Conversations are better, connection feels deeper, and the night actually feels like date night again instead of two people scrolling in the same room. It turns phone-free time into a shared commitment instead of an awkward rule. It’s discreet, durable, affordable, and doesn’t feel gimmicky. For anyone who wants to set boundaries with technology without overcomplicating things, this is a surprisingly perfect solution. Highly recommend for couples, dinners, or anytime you want real connection without notifications getting in the way.

Solid and good size, but poor lock
I believe happiness with any product begins with the purpose for which you purchased it. I did not purchase this product to house index cards, nor for the lock, but for the size and construction of the item. The size is pretty much exactly what I needed and while the construction certainly is not equal to that of a fire-proof lock box, it is well enough made to handle long use. Where I have a problem is the locking mechanism, which is cheesy and next to useless. The included key does not go into the lock to any significant depth and in turning the key it really isn't clear when the lock actually engages. Additionally, I honestly think you could probably force the lock with just your hands if you have any strength at all. The only other thing about this box I find lacking is that there is no handle on the top, but I knew that before purchasing. Overall, this is a solidly constructed little box that will perform well enough for storage of many items, but I wouldn't trust sensitive documents or other valuables to be safe from theft.
