Work great and look good

I'm 69 yo & becoming an adult now. Time to grow up and buy classy things. See photos of my old curtain hold backs (hands) vs my new Antique Brass hold backs ! I just LOVE THEM! Bigger & heavier than I expected. Smooth threading. Very Happy! Cool how the spheres not only unscrew from the rods but also unscrew in half at the center of the hollow sphere. Fantastic hiding place. Sphere volume appx 1/4 cup. Only have 4 so far, will return for more. Just installed them. And as a designer, my mind is already jumping into "what else can I use these for?" Inside & outside(?), my Jeep Gladiator! Towel hooks, handles, earrings, horseshoe game, who knows? I'm thinking multiples on each curtain, staggered outward going up or down. So how do I get these hold backs out of the way when it's time to pull down my brand new double hungs? TIP: Put in just one screw with washers front & back, either of the 2 screw holes, your choice. Then PIVOT the hold back up to vertical, out of the way of window. One screw won't hold tight so buy some small Tweeker Shims (clear plastic) from Amz. Rotate the brass HBs down from vertical as you position a tweeker under the rod, close to screw and pull down over it until tight. I'm a Genius!!!!

These look really beautiful and tasteful, not brassy and cheap. The only problem is the hardware provided sucks. The anchors are not good, as other reviews have stated, and the screws are way too short. I tried to use my own anchors and screws but the color was off and it just didn't look nearly as good. Also no instructions on drill bit size. It's a shame because I do like the look but I do not think it sits a bit awkwardly on the wall. Also I don't think it will hold up well over time. Not sure yet if I'm going to try to redo it (and patch up the wall) or return and get something else.
