Very Nice Guitar But...
I usually don't review inexpensive beginner guitars. I stumbled upon this Lyx Pro guitar on Amazon listed as 'used, very good condition', for just $75. I believe the normal price range is something like $110. And therein lies the problem. As with other cheap beginner guitars I've handled, I didn't expect much from the Lyx Pro. To say I was surprised is an understatement. The strap is cheap and feels like it will break at any time. The strings, including the extra set, are junk. The clip-on tuner is a very nice touch, especially for a beginner, and works fine. The cable, unlike others provided with starter guitars, is of nice quality and is a keeper, if for nothing else than a backup. As for the guitar itself, I've been playing it since its arrival and have had a hard time putting it down. The mahogany finish is perfect and stunning, the neck straight and smooth, the tuners are typically low quality and hold tune ok, not great, the controls work perfectly and are also nice and smooth, and the pickups sound great. Not perfect, but leaps and bounds beyond what is to be expected. Here is where I run into a conundrum. The guitar was already set up (again something not expected in this price range) the action low and comfortable and the intonation dead on. I couldn't have set this guitar up better myself. So... do all Lyx Pro guitars come this way? Remember, I purchased this particular guitar used, in 'very good' condition. That means it was in the hands of another. Did the previous buyer do the setup and adjustments? And if so, why then did they decide to return it? I guess the final take is this: IF (and that's a big IF) all Lyx Pro guitars come this way then they are an incredible bargain. If someone else did the adjustments and setup, I'd say this is still a nice guitar for a student or intermediate wishing to get into electric guitars... after it has been properly set up. At this point, I am considering purchasing a new Lyx Pro just to satisfy my own questions and curiosity. In any event, compared to the other bargain guitars I have handled and the reviews they are given, I'd say the Lyx Pro is worth a try. My recommendations: New quality strings, replace the tuners, and have a good setup done if needed, Please Note: As of this writing, I have not tested the enclosed small practice amp. When I do, and if anything changes with the guitar I will update.

For More Than Beginners
I've been playing for years, but arthritis has taken its toll on that activity. So much so, that I've given my Alvarez to my granddaughter. I borrowed my daughter's classical guitar thinking it would be easier on my hands to play than the steel acoustic. It wasn't. :-( Finally, I decided to try an inexpensive electric guitar. Yay! This LyxPro Electric Guitar 39" inch Full Beginner Starter kit Full Size with 20w Amp was a perfect choice. The price was right, (i got a color i didn't really want bc it was far less) and the look was far better than expected. The amp is low end, of course, but has a decent sound for the price. Perfect for beginners or those of us who may not need the amp. I get enough sound out of this guitar to practice and keep myself entertained. Because of this, I have been able to use the classical again with more ease. Such a relief and a blessing for me. The acoustic sound coming out is fine for solo playing or you can connect to the amp. The amp is functional for basic practice. There's a strap for the guitar and a few extras. Some picks, a spare set of strings and an electronic tuner. I don't use the tuner as it's easier for me to just tune off the 6th string as needed. The guitar has a nice finish and is smooth to the touch and quite comfortable to hold. There are 2 trees to use or not and plenty of controls to keep your musician happy while learning. Definitely recommend for a first guitar or for anyone needing to keep up the playing when the bones don't want to work so great anymore.

Excellent first electric kit.
This guitar kit was a Christmas gift for my 14-year-old son, who has just begun learning to play. So far, he is VERY happy with it, and he’s been playing it since he opened it today! It’s an excellent value for the money I paid for it, and it was 25% off with a sale it was offered for a few weeks back. I know this will not be something he’ll play for a super long time, but for someone who’s just beginning, it’s a great starting point. I told him if he practices faithfully for a year and stays dedicated, then we’ll move him up to a new, “higher quality” guitar. That’s not to say this is poor quality, but it is an entry-level setup. But everybody’s gotta start somewhere, right? Overall, I feel very pleased with my purchase, and so does he. He had an AWESOME Christmas! EDIT: He’s still going strong here in March. The video is of something he taught himself last night. AC/DC fans will appreciate. EDIT #2: (Oct. ‘22). He has since bought a really nice “next level” guitar, but he still plays this strat faithfully. I think no matter how many guitars he ends up owning, this one will always be with him as his first electric.

Experienced Honest Review
This is a great beginner's guitar. For the price, you get what you get. However, you can easily upgrade later! Simply put, this is a guitar with the understanding that it is for beginners. The Amp - The amp is a friendly practice amp. You turn it on, and sounds come out. You can toggle with the bass, treble, and drive. For a beginner guitarist, that is fine! Of course, I plugged the guitar into a much professional amp, and the guitar sounded great! The Cable - Plugs, no crackling or pops while playing. What is there to complain about? The Neckstrap - The neck strap holds the guitar and prevents the guitar from falling when you are playing. The strap quality is, of course, cheap, but it 100% does what it is made to do. Though I would recommend getting some soft safety locks. The Tuner - The turner comes in three settings. It stays true to guitar tuning, and I've never had a problem with it. Just make sure that you hold down the button to turn it off; otherwise, you will change it to a new setting, and then next time you tune your guitar, you will get confused! (For beginners). If you do, click the button until you get to the standard tuning mode. The Whammy Bar - Cheap whammy bar but does what any quality whammy bar would do! The Guitar - The guitar is VERY lightweight. Out of the box, it needs to be tuned. I played it as is, and it sounded great for what it was. I did adjust the pickups, but the neck well pretty well adjusted. The feel of the guitar does feel the lower quality from a more expensive guitar (but in my opinion, it's what the guitar sounds like that is important). The frets, neck, and bridge were fine as they were, and I enjoyed playing this beginner's guitar! VERDICT - I got this guitar as a beat-up and travel guitar. I also got it to practice my modding skills (I rather practice on a cheap guitar rather than an expensive one!). For a beginner, this is an excellent guitar! When playing it, I played it for long periods and did not want to put it down! I've been playing for quite a while, so knowing this, this is a good guitar to start your musical journey! Save your money to get your dream guitar sooner!! For an experienced guitarist, this is an excellent beat-up guitar or to practice any modding. It's a fun guitar to play as long as you know exactly what you are getting. If you have high standards, then, of course, this is not going to be for you. But even for a low-quality guitar, it's still much fun to play and fool around with. KEEP THIS IN MIND - Sometimes, these cheap guitars do have flaws. I got a great model of this guitar, but I have experience getting these affordable models and have found flaws. I would then ask for a new one (same model) and then find the next would be flawless. That's why it's more practical to go into a store and see the exact one you are getting. In any case, don't get discouraged and ask for a new one.

A mixed bag.
Facts first: I bought a "used in new condition one" so it was probably returned and probably because it was the runt of the litter. Action: playable, but really bad, especially at the nut. Fret dressing: playable but pretty bad, sharp edges but not protruding fret ends. Damage: small ding in the back of the neck, no a big deal. Tuners: a lot better than $100 guitars of the 90s but still not good. A bit of slop in the movement is frustrating. Tuner: it is basically a free tuner. It works but not very good, I dont believe it has a chromatic mode either so you are stuck with stanard tuning. Overall: the materials you get for this price are a great deal but I would have returned it had i not had all the tools to make a custom bone nut and dress the fret ends. I would say expect to pay someone at least $35 for a setup and probably more as the plastic "not graphtek equivalent but plastic" nut is trash. Its made of nylon i think. It will ware down quick but also they are just a pain to resist and 1 stroke takes off so much. So would I recommend it for a beginner, yes and no. If you are left handed these guys are not charging the $150 left handed tax. So even spending another $50 for a setup is still a good value and in fairness most guitars in this $100 range are going to need to be setup. If you are right handed though. . . No, there are many better options. Cort yamaha ibanez so many options within $50-100 of this that are objectively better in every way.

Nice Guitar for the Money
I read reviews, some positive, some negative, I am very happy with my purchase. The accessories are cheap and crappy no doubt... but, the guitar is pretty good quality. The digital tuner works great, amp is fine to get started, as are the cables etc. Strap is awful, case blows and the strings suck, but come on!! It's a $200.00 guitar kit! Get over it! $200? I spend more on beer and wings on a Tuesday. I ordered the guitar kit and some Ernie Ball strings as well as the Amazon Basics guitar strap. It holds a tune well, and if I stick with it, I can get better components as I go. If you're looking for a high end guitar, this isn't it, but if you're looking to get started and see if electric guitar is for you? Can't really go wrong. I signed up for Justin Guitar online lessons and there's no looking back. Merry Christmas!

Really solid kit, slight buzz to speaker, ineffective pickups
I've never had an electric guitar before and I was so excited to pull the trigger on this. I'm not playing it as much as I'd like but it does sound nice and everything worked well. The good: from my amateur opinion, it has a really nice sound to it, and the amp (20w) is really loud for its size and price point; it really does come with everything, and nothing was broken. The price was also appealing for me, and I liked the colour variety. The bad: The action seems a little bit high but apparently that's adjustable. The electric tuner seemed a little bit flimsy (it would say "on" or "out of pitch" depending on how loudly I played a string, which should not be the case--to be fair this could be a guitar problem), the amp also buzzes a bit (though this may be normal?), the guitar neck is actually quite thick (some hand cramps ensued), the pickups don't seem to add very much variety from each other, and apparently most users replace their strings and/or cable immediately (which I have not). It also arrived with a few dents in the box and a little scratch but I honestly didn't mind since it was so very minor and everything still worked great; The strap is also a bit uncomfortable (its just a classic adjustable harness type strap with no pattern and poorly cut holes). Also, I found listings on facebook marketplace a week later that was about $50 cheaper so that's also something to consider if you're driven mostly by price. TLDR: tbh all I wanted was something cheap to get started with and to practice a new skill with without sinking lots of cash or judging myself. Unless you can find a cheaper bundle on facebook marketplace, this is probably the best price range for a new, practice guitar bundle for beginners that I've seen (definitely on amazon or musicians' websites); I don't recommend for experienced players though.

Excellent Beginner Guitar Kit
Quality Build: The guitar itself is of excellent quality with a full-size design that feels comfortable to play. The finish is smooth, and the materials used seem durable. Easy to Tune: The digital tuner included in the package is user-friendly and helped me quickly get the guitar in tune, even as a beginner. Overall, the LyxPro Electric Guitar Starter kit exceeded my expectations. It's a fantastic option for beginners who want a quality instrument with all the necessary accessories. I'm looking forward to honing my skills with this kit.
