Like having an extra person
VERY sturdy, easy setup and breakdown, very quality tool that seems will last a very very long time with continuous usage, as should be expected from a construction tool. I spend a lot of money on quality brand tools since they are the lifeline of my livelihood. I work in construction and need tools that can take a beating and hold up to the strenuous jobs they are used for. This Jaw horse stand does exaclty that, with many versatile uses, and definitely makes my one man jobs much easier. I actually bought 2 and use them in replace of standard saw horses. Fully adjustable, so alot of time i use only 1, but nice having 2 when applicable. I use them for various means like, extra support when cutting large lumber or moulding on my table and miter saw. Saw horses as mentioned. Extra support to hold lumber in place when i need another hand to hold one end, while I secure the opposing end. Being able to fully adjust height and angles of my support boards makes doing projects with one person so much easier.

The helper I needed
This item has been on my wish list for over two years. Of course, like other have mentioned, I should have gotten it sooner but ....... Before purchasing items, I like to look at what other people think of it. I start by reading from the low side, one star, to the four stars because there is more information in these reviews. But there were more reviews on the Rockwell Jaw Stand that just seemed to me that these folks don't know how to use tools in general. At the time I got this Jaw Stand, Amazon was listing it at $69.95. They also listed the same item, and though Prime, for $64.95. $5 cheaper. It was in their warehouse special and, only one left. They listed it as new, with only the box being slightly damaged. Being Amazon, I ordered it. It came, box was slightly damaged with a lot of extra tape, but I wasn't worried. Opened it up to find a different color - Green. SO WHAT. It was new and appeared nothing was missing with absolutely no scratches. When I attempted to put the long tube into the base of the unit, it would not go. Yes the knob was not tightened and in looking down the insertion area, there was a metal clamp that seemed to be attached to the protruding bolt but somehow interfering with the opening. I removed the knob totally, reverse it (otherwise the nut would only come though the knob) and pushed in on the knob which now moved this clamping mechanism. The shaft went right in. Reversed the knob again and all is well in JawStandville. Be aware that the nut can and will fall out of the knob. I proceeded to finally set up the rest of the unit. After opening the legs fully, a little stiff but, I'd rather have firm than sloppy. I checked the level on top, It worked. Right dead on - unreal. I then pulled on the top to increase the height, again a little tight but I liked that as well. I noticed these measurement markings on the post. Hmmmmm I said to myself, could these be a height measurement? So I measured from the top of the unit to the floor and it was 1 1\4 inches off. Did not like that. So I finally broke down and ...... read the book. Lol. Yes this was the macro adjustment markings indicating the floor to the top of the slider guides but, alas, this was not to be. Not a deal breaker. I proceeded to the angle top to test the strength of the knob and it held. So now I played with the cranking knob (they call this the 'precise adjustment') and I love it. Came out to 22 turns per inch. Sure it takes a long time, but it is call the precise adjustment (not the 'micro' as other reviewers mentioned) and the bottom is call the macro height adjustment. Makes sense to me. Other reviewers were complaining a lot about the clamp. First of all this is a Stand. You want a clamp, get the Jaw Horse. That's a real clamp. And as far as what fits in it, well I got a 1 by (that's 3\4 by whatever, mine was 4) and tried to clamp it. It worked folks. Yes you have to turn the knob all the way in but ..... I then used an old 2 X 4 which measured 1 3\4 (not the typical 1 1\2) by 3 1\2 and that also fit. Clamping down on both held quite well for both boards. Thinking of getting those rollers to screw onto the 2 X 4 to use as a roller top like another reviewer mentioned. Yes the feet set up wide and get in the way, better then falling over. They do not interfere with clamping and hanging a door. The added rubber feet also help make this unit stable. So even though the specs state 29 to 43 inch height adjustability, mine is 30 to 44 1\4. Lol. Not bad. I'm short anyway. Anyone who needs an extra set of hands to help hold something while doing work around the house, your shop or even on the job, get this devise. I wanted this to aid in hanging doors and help hold wall cabinets and have that ability to adjust it to your exact final position and this does it all. And being green, it does not look like a dewalt or stanley tool, lol Thanks for your time, enjoy

Very Useful Features, But Not Perfect
The good: Stronger than your typical work stand. Nice features like a built-in height guide, height adjustment crank, and clamping and tilting head. My favorite of these is the fine-tuning height adjustment crank. Trying to get your material supports to the correct height is a pain (like the rollers/supports on a miter saw stand). Setting the height for stands usually means guessing, checking, then re-adjusting the height until it is close enough. With this stand, you can get it close with the main height adjustment and then turn the crank to get the final, exact adjustment. The bad: The clamp and the "locking" knob for the tilting head don't hold particularly great. But they will likely work for most applications. The height markers on the side of the stand seem to be off by an inch. One would think that with the fine-tuning height adjustment set at zero offset, the heights marked on the side would be to the top of the stand, but they seem to give a reading off by an inch. I won't rule out the possibility I misinterpreted something or took a bad measurement, but I haven't figured out what went wrong yet. I was looking for a work support stand to help support material like 4x8 sheets of plywood or extra long dimensional lumber on my table saw, miter saw, et cetera. They have dedicated 3-in-1 stands for this, but most of them seem to have poor reviews. So I went with the approach of getting a Rockwell RK9034 JawStand XP and combining it with a scrap piece of 2x4 and some roller bearings. It was a little more expensive the buying the 3-in-1 stands, but the end result is a much sturdier and more versatile tool system. The roller bearings I used can are here: Set of 6 TruePower 1" Roller Ball Transfer Bearings

A little disappointed - Updated - My bad
I feel like the demonstration pictures are a little misleading. Without mounting this thing to something, it is very wobbly. And clamping is very misrepresented, in my opinion. I mean it struggled holding a little piece of mdf. Maybe mdf is just too slippery. It definitely held a piece of 2x4 better. I guess I just thought this thing would be more flexible and useful. It actually has limited use cases. It's clamping area will definitely hold a door like they show, but it won't hold anything less than 3/4" without improvisation. It was probably mentioned in the description so shame on me if it was. Seems like, to make this thing really useful, you need two of them. I am not thinking it is priced incorrectly, I mean it is sturdy and clearly built with quality, but the clamping mechanism is just limited and only has 3 litlle pads. And the pads are hard plastic and not that grippy nor soft - could definitely see how it might mar your wood. Anyway, this thing has limited uses, but I am still going to keep it as with little tweaks, I can see still finding a way to making it more helpful. I am going to save up for the jawhorse. That looks to be way more useful and folds up to be just about as small as the jaw stand. I will do that instead of getting a second jaw stand. I'm sure others will find a better way to use this, or maybe have something to bolt it to. I just thought it would be more versatile for the tiny projects I'm working on and it just didn't meet muster for me. Update: The problem with my perceived value was my point of view. While I bought this with a pre-conceived notion of how I might use it in woodworking and not thinking of real use cases this was intended for, I now see this little stand has many uses. May require a little creativity, I've already thought of things where this stand will be incredibly useful to me in my small shop!

Pros & Cons
The Rockwell RK9034 is a versatile tool that can act as an extra set of hands but it's not without drawbacks. The Good: Easy to set up, well-constructed, sturdy and flexible for dozens of tasks. The Not-So-Good: The large jaws don't actually move -those are fixed with exactly 2-inches between them. There's a much smaller clamp on one side of the large jaws that actually moves and locks to hold things in place. It's still very stable, but not what I expected. The maximum width of what the clamp will hold is 2 inches. Also, when using the micro-adjust feature, the vertical bar extends upward making the stand wobble slightly. It may not be a factor for many tasks, but the stand is much more stationary when not using the micro-adjust feature. Overall, this stand is solid and useful. It does have some plastic parts that I suspect would be more durable had they been made of metal. The price was about $109.00, which I think is a bit high considering everything. I'd put the value around $75 bucks, but then again, if this is a tool you'd get a lot of use out of, the cost shouldn't be a deal-breaker. Bottom Line: Good product. Could use some minor improvements. Pricey but highly functional.

👍🏼 Versatile and well built
The stands are great. I bought two. Build quality is high and better than anticipated. Whomever designed and spec’d the stands clearly put a lot of thought into them. The material and construction evoke care for the product. Even the packaging shows pride in it. I spent a lot more money on other tools to have them arrive in thoughtless and cheap packaging - and subsequently damaged upon arrival. Not the case with these stands. The various adjustments allow for flexible and versatile positioning. Great for working outdoors on uneven surfaces. I have used roller type stands in past. I wasn’t sure how the hard plastic (nylon) glides on the stand would be. They’re great. No issues. Minor scuff marks on them seems normal. Didn’t think I would use the clamp feature but sure enough, I used it the other day while using a coping saw and plane and on piece of wood. Highly recommend these stands.

Great addition for my workshop...fully adjustable.
Works great, after reading all the stellar reviews about this work horse I decided to make the purchase, already used it to hang a few doors and planning to use it for some cabinet work as a third hand. All metal construction except the locking knobs, very solid legs that can be bolted down, quality top base with built in level.

A must to buy
Edit 1: one thing that i would do it to improve the Product is to use more metal parts instead of hard plastic parts, nothing broke yet but i personally dont like to have plastic adjusters, it feels like it will break if you apply a bit more pressure haha JUST BUY IT At first I thought it was a lot of money (specially bc I bought 2), I wish it was a bit cheaper but oh well, it’s still an awesome product tho If you are a handyman just get it It’s extremely handy I use for painting specially bc you can adjust the height and work EXTREMELY CONFORTABLE, but I already hang doors with it, used for cutting extremely long boards in the end of my mitre saw etc and I also use for hanging stuff so I don’t have tools thrown around my work area and I don’t need to bend down to pick it up as well
