Phosphatidylserine (PS) is naturally occurring, and it is the most abundant phospholipid present in the brain. Phosphatidylserine is the component of the cell membrane. It plays an essential role in brain cell communication, and the transfer of nutrients between cells.
As we get older the cell membranes of our brain cells progressively lose Phosphatidylserine. Studies have shown that supplemental phosphatidylserine may be highly effective in combating age related cognitive decline and impairment.
