Do you have to sign that they will own your dna and genetic information forever? Do they share that info with 3rd parties?

Ancestry.com & 23 & Me can sell your DNA to 3rd parties (although your name is not attached to your DNA...."anonymous") BUT Family Tree DNA makes a PROMISE to NEVER sell or share it even anonymously. When you die & if you have not given a family member your kit # & password to log into your account (I'm giving it to my 3 sisters) or if you do not have a "beneficiary" with a GOOD contact email & phone # then they will "own" your DNA at that point at least for 25 years after you submitted your DNA but I don't know if they can still keep your RAW DATA & what they do with it then...maybe research of some kind with geneaology stuff like surnames? I think after a person dies ....ALL the companies have rights of some kind to your DNA or data or both?

Does this kit include a copy of the raw data code?

Partially, if you are a male unless you pay to get the upgrade for the Y-DNA tests they ignore doing anything with the Y chromosome information.

It DEPENDS on how you set your privacy settings. You can select PRIVATE, immediate & close relatives or distant relatives or ALL relatives. So like another person said you can also just use initials instead of your full name if you want too.
