These glasses are amazing they really work well and are saving my neck from pain and problems I have had in the past from too much belaying. They are made of very sturdy metal and come with a tether which keeps the glasses around your neck when not in use. I wear prescription glasses and these go right in front to allow me to see everything in focus. I never have to bend my neck to look up with these. If I need to look at a knot or something else I just look above the belay glasses and I can clearly see whatever I need to. Then back to the goggles to see up the wall.

I did some research before buying, and I think I made the right choice. They are comfortable. The field of vision is large enough to clearly see the climber, but you still have reasonable peripheral vision. The case is well made and quite convenient (it hangs on your harness). If I lost these belay glasses, I would buy the same thing again.

Great quality, easy to use, stay put on your face, and save your neck!! I was having daily neck and shoulder pain from belaying at the gym 2 times week. I still climb that often or more, but no more pain! The tab at the nosepiece to pull them on and off is helpful. I can comfortably wear them over my glasses. And the case they come in is sturdy and convenient. Worth the money in my opion.

These glasses fit well, and offer a surprisingly good view of my climber on the wall. And because my neck doesn't get sore, I can be more vigilant. Great product!

I finally paid for one of these dorky looking glasses because my neck was killing me belaying, especially when my partner is working on a problem and taking a long time. They take some getting used to, since it doesn't work until the climber is higher up on the wall, and they actually block your vision when the climber is just starting the climb. I figured out that if I wear it slightly lower on my nose (like an old granny reading glasses), I can still see the climber over the glasses with my own eyes at the beginning. And when the climber is high enough on the wall, I can just quickly nudge the glasses up my nose and transition to seeing through these glasses. I never tried the cheaper ones on Amazon and went straight for this expensive pair, partly because I read good reviews about it, partly because I tried a cheaper one in a sporting goods store, and that pair had some weird distortion that was making me dizzy. So I was wary of trying the cheaper ones on Amazon. Perhaps they are okay if you are on a budget, but if you plan on using these a lot, I suggest spending a little more.

This pair of "belayggle" as I can them is made of high quality material that won't degrade over time like the plastic ones tend to do. The prism is of highest quality and visibility is superb. They comfortably sit on your ears and nose and it comes with a laniard.

These work really well. I have 4 vertebrae in my neck fused,and having my head looking upward for any length of time more than about 15 seconds is not possible. These eliminate that problem. It took literally 5 minutes or less to get used to them, and I never belay without them. I’ve had them for about 5 months and they are holding up great. Highly recommended and I’m about to order a pair for my daughter (who doesn’t have any neck fusions but does get neck ache too).

I have tried several pairs of belay glasses including Metolius and other brands, and the YY Classics take the cake. They are more sleek and light weight than comparable brands, and they also have the best visual clarity I have seen on a pair of belay glasses so far. They somehow improve the overall clarity of vision beyond your normal site which is quite impressive. I was able to wear my Ombraz sunglasses with them no problem!
