Who Is Dolly Parton? (Who Was?)

Loved learning about Dolly Parton , it was truly inspiring. I grew up watching and listening to dolly and it was a big part of my early years watch one movie she made

I loved the book, It was great for a great price!

Bought this for one of my kids because he loves The Who Is/Was series and we are huge Dolly fans. Then I mailed it to a friend from college because she had sent my husband the Little Golden Book on Dolly. We all need a little Dolly-love in our lives!

My 6 year old is a BIG Dolly fan and devoured this book on our car ride for Spring Break. She loved it.

The content of the book is excellent. The illustrations however aren’t the best. Several pictures of Dolly do not look like her at all. Some make her look like an elderly woman when the picture is supposed to be Dolly in her twenties. The picture of her statue is horrible, her neck is huge and the face doesn’t come close to her likeness. I am not sure how this illustrator’s pictures were thought acceptable for this book. They do nothing to enhance the beauty and the joy that is Dolly. I hate for children to not have an accurate likeness of her. Very disappointing. The book has four stars for content but it’s a zero for the illustrations.

Our little Dolly fan loved this book

I liked that she dreamed BIG and then set out to work hard to achieve those goals. I used this book as the basis of a program as part of a series I named" Americans All". The audience of older, memory impaired men and women loved her story and her music. Many related to her rustic young life.

My daughter loves this book. After she reads these she feels like a million dollars.
