Sweet spot of mag for boating
Perfect for boating. Don’t need to place them right on your eye so they work well with sunglasses. The right mag. Any more you would need stabilization control for a good image which cost substantially more. Very easy to find your target and quickly zoom to clarity. Lens caps are teathered so no keeping track or losing them. No negatives.

Worth the money
These are the best binoculars if you are bird watching. I’m pretty new at it, but I ended up buying another pair so i can leave them on different floors in my house in case i see something out the window!

Wow, these work great
I have had problems with binoculars in the past, usually problems with collimation. These were perfect. Focus was exquisite. The optics are great. These are now my go-to general purpose binoculars for bird watching or other generic use. I have 15x70 for star gazing and 10x50 for upclose viewing. The 8x42 binoculars are easier to hold steady than the 10x50's and have a wider field of view. So far, I'm very impressed. They have more than enough adjustment to deal with looking through glasses or the naked eye. I have discovered no drawbacks yet.

Quality Nikon glass
Very clear. Focus adjusts easily and precisely. Great for hunting and bird watching. Only drawbacks are eye covers fall off and no tripod mount

Excellent for birding.
These hit the sweet spot for light gathering, field of view, magnification, and weight for birding.

Excellent optics
This review is written buy a guy who never spent more than $40 a binocular in his life. My cousin is a birder who buys expensive binoculars for the hobby. I asked what the difference was between a cheap 8X32 binocular and an expensive one. He said the more expensive ones have better lenses which produce more light and clarity . OK . So I go out of my economic comfort zone a put down $256 for the Nikon Monarch M5. The quality is night and day above the $40 ones . Crisp focus with twice the light . The eye cup edges are rubberized so you can view with glasses. Something you cannot do with the cheap versions. The field of view is also much wider with these . Easier find what you are looking for. It also comes with a nice case . I plan to buy another one for my vacation home .
