Worth the extra buck over the cheap knives.
Once you get a good quality product like that it's hard to come back to the cheap knives. Cannot recommend enough, especially if you use those kind of tools a lot. It's worth the extra buck. Functionality: The grip is excellent. It won't roll off the desk. Durability: Very durable, has nice weight to it.

The best hobby knife I have ever found--far superior to other similar knives!
These are definitely a step up from your average hobby knife. As soon as you pick it up you will feel the weight difference. This has a very solid feel and at least twice the weight of an X-Acto knife. The grip of the blade is also far superior to the X-Acto system and it loosens easily. This is something every hobbyist needs and a cut *cough* above the competition. The knife is well designed. The nub on the back keeps it from rolling off your desk and straight into your foot like an X-Acto. Seriously, why has no one addressed this before? The cap also fits securely and won't come off. As far as blades go, it come with three, but you can also fit standard X-Acto blades in it and it holds them just as securely. That's good because X-Acto generally has good blades and they are cheap and available everywhere. I really purchased this as a saw. The OLFA saw blades are perfect for modelers and hobbyists who need a razor-fine cut. This is the best hobby knife I have ever found and a pretty good bargain. Tamiya and others rebrand this knife as their own and charge 2x more. I will probably buy a few more to keep as spares.

Fiberglass-reinforced plastic + metal construction = high quality tool
This is a very sturdy craft knife! Blade retention is solid thanks to the steel and brass collet. The collet threads directly into the plastic handle, but the handle is made of reinforced tool plastic (probably nylon with 30% fiberglass) so I anticipate the handle's internal threads lasting a long time. I tightened the collet very aggressively but there was no noticeable flexing or cracking despite my best efforts to break it. The grip is a simple rubber sleeve and can be removed or upgraded with silicone tubing (brass is ~9.75mm dia). Handle and cap have protrusions to prevent rolling. Four extra blades are included and the knife retains cheap generic blades without issue. It's a simple robust design and well worth the price.

Best hobby knife handle I've had.
Higher quality than I was expecting, even after reading the glowing reviews. It is actually made in Japan! Plastic Body: feels sturdy, similar to shatter-proof plastics I have felt. Has a ridge at the back to curb rolling around on your work area. Rubber Grip: smooth, but very grippy yielding excellent control. Allows for easy tightening and untightening. Safety Cap: Actually stays on and functions as it should! Isn't directional, so one mustn't pay attenetion to how it is connected. Tightening Mechanism: Unlike others, the mechanism is actually two pieces, allowing for a tighter grip. Also has a slot in the top for standard hobby knife blades. This is in contrast to most other hobby knife handles because it means the tension on the blade comes from front and back, rather than the sides, which means your blade won't slide back when you put some pressure on it. What a great idea! The only thing I would have liked to see would be a threaded insert in the handle instead of the metal tightening mechanism screwing directly into the plastic. But, like I said, the plastic seems very heavy-duty and I haven't had any trouble with it yet. EDIT with update: This is, straight-up, the best hobby knife handle I've ever used. If you're looking for the best, buy this one.

A bit bulky, but it gets the job done.
Looks a bit cheap, but the hardware seems substantial, and it's got a good heft to it -- perhaps a bit too much heft, as I was not expecting it to be quite as large as it is. Blade insertion and removal is easy and straightforward, which is NOT the case for far too many of these tools. The anti-roll feature is not too effective, however, and this handle is much too thick to fit the standard rubber wedges often used to keep knives from rolling off tables and into laps and feet. Given a do-over I'd probably go for the smaller Olfa handle, which is more suitable to my needs, but overall it feels like a better-quality product than X-Acto or Excel for about the same money.

Great Knife
Nice weight and Grip, standard #11 blades easy to replace but the most outstanding feature of this knife is the ability to keep blade secured into handle. used Xacto, excel... other brands and all of them seem to lose grip on blade and require frequent retightening

Amazing quality
Ive been a fan of OLFA for a while now, while its not the cheapest brand, it is the most reliable and a pleasure to work with. Their blades stay sharp for a very long time. This knife works amaZing for my leather crafts. Easy to use, sturdy, heavier than you think. I tried it on a wallet and it cut through the leather like butter. Blade is incredibly sharp, i barely touch it and poke my thumb very easily.

A quality bit of kit. Well made and feels really comfortable in the hand. I've used it to chip bits of wood off larger chunks and it has done so with ease and hasn't slipped. Worth the £8 something I paid.

This is perfectly balanced and feels great to use. The blade is super secure and does not loosen up. All the other knives available on amazon are garbage in comparison to this. Note: the Olfa replacement blades are a step above the others available, you won't go wrong sticking with Olga.
