How often do the filters need replacing and what is the cost?

I use a 1-3-5 year schedule and my filter works as well now as the day I installed it:
* Every year I replace the first three stages or the large vertical filters @$30-$50 if purchased separately
* Every three years I replace the fifth stage filter, horizontal filter on the top @$20-$30 if purchased separately
* Every five years I replace the fourth stage reverse osmosis filter @$30-$40 if purchased separately

You can usually get a discount and get all five stages for @$125-$135.

If you try to save money and not replace your filters as scheduled, you will probably foul up the stages behind it even faster.  For example, if you try to save money by not replacing the first three filter stages you will end up having to replace stages four and five way more often.  Which is actually a more expensive scenario.

It says in the description that the unit removes flouride. Has anyone had a chance to measure the flouride levels in their water after filtering?

The System is tested under the Water Quality Association to remove fluoride at 97.7% and the membrane itself was tested by the manufacturer Dow Filmtec to remove at a range of 90 to 97%

Can I hook it up to the ice maker on my fridge and use the included water faucet?

Our system can be hooked up to the ice-maker on the fridge with proper connections. It can either be tee off so that it sends water to both the included faucet and the ice-maker or to the ice-maker or our included faucet by itself.

Question 4

Does it require professional installation?  I have no idea what goes on under my sink!

Accepted Answer

The system is packaged with the idea of do it yourself so you don't have to get professional help. Many of our customers were able to install it themselves by following the very comprehensive installation manual that we include in the package. We even have a video on youtube that shows how to install our system step by step. However, if you are not comfortable installing the system, any local plumber should have no trouble installing it for you in an hour or so at most.
